YANBU - we saw our first Easter eggs in Iceland... it was New Years Eve... so even before the year started!

SPsFifthConyoIsTheBestConyo · 05/01/2014 14:45

Are mini eggs out now?

NoComet · 05/01/2014 14:45

YANBU
There are cream egg ads on the TV

RandyRudolf · 05/01/2014 14:46

Soon it'll be the Valentine's and Mother's Day tatt. It's what keeps the economy going.

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 05/01/2014 14:46

YABU, it's never too early for mini eggs! not that I bought a bag yesterday oh no

bearleftmonkeyright · 05/01/2014 14:54

I had hot cross buns yesterday, think I've peaked too soon.

peking · 05/01/2014 14:55

There must be a seasonal aisle IN EVERY SUPERMARKET ALL THE TIME.

It's like, the law.

Personally I was quite happy we had 3 months of Christmas food/decs/gifts because it meant I could just buy those items which were on offer and spread the cost throughout 1/4 of the year.

But I don't give a fig about V-day, Easter, Halloween etc...yawn.

BrownSauceSandwich · 05/01/2014 15:03

Well, there must be people buying it, otherwise the supermarkets wouldn't give up space to it yet.

Admittedly, I eat hot cross buns any time of year.

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 05/01/2014 15:05

I did buy a creme egg though, I think Cadbury should make them all year round.

OP posts:
Iamsparklyknickers · 05/01/2014 15:06

Surely the correct seasonal aisle for January should be stuffed with slim fast and budget baked beans? Grin

I do think the Easter stuff should be left till at least after valentines day.

funkybuddah · 05/01/2014 15:06

YABU creme eggs are always welcome

Our local WH Smith had creme eggs out 2 days after Boxing Day (on the Saturday) the same store that has Psychologies magazine on the top shelf so i had to struggle almost pulling a muscle to reach it. While having the tits and arse stuff on eye level.

Skrifa · 05/01/2014 16:21

They're doing it a bit late. Aren't there any Halloween decs up yet?

MyNameIsSuz · 05/01/2014 16:24

It's ridiculous, I agree, though our WH Smiths had little Cadbury eggs with Dime bar in them and I was ever so tempted.

JennyOnAPlate · 05/01/2014 16:25

Didn't see any Easter eggs when I was in sainsburys on Friday. There was an aisle end dedicated to hot cross buns though!

sapfu · 05/01/2014 16:31

My nearest supermarket has cut price Christmas goods on one aisle, and the Easter stuff (some of which has a sell by date in February ffs) on the next one.

I said to the nearest shelf stacker, Where's the Halloween stuff then?

He smirked and said Yeah I know, it's insane.

HoratiaDrelincourt · 05/01/2014 17:04

I wish they had to wait until Lent even though I'd cheerfully eat hot cross buns every day of the year.

It does make me rage when they sell seasonal items that won't even reach the season - mince pies in October with a November use-by date, for example.

Even more vile for the shaped chocolate things which have a shelf life measured in years, not weeks.

SeaDevilscanPlay · 05/01/2014 17:10

We should have creme eggs all year round.

My DS eats hot x buns all year round too - thank goodness they have them in store because he would stave otherwise.

Darkesteyes · 05/01/2014 17:11

The reason they do that (seasonal items that wont reach the season) is a food marketing ploy to make ppl spend more.

HoneyDragon · 05/01/2014 17:15

YABU Creme Eggs are what Christmas is all about.

SecretNutellaFix · 05/01/2014 17:17

I have already succumbed.

The day after Boxing day I purchased and ate 3 lindt Easter bunnies which were 3 for £1.
