My 13 yr old son was beaten up a few weeks ago. Apparently it's 'gone viral' on fb and pos twitter. We hadn't pushed the police investigation because ds was embarrassed and wanted it to go away, but I'm on the case now.

Haven't had the heart to search for the video yet, but is there ANYTHING I can do about it? I will search if I can get it off, but don't want to view it if there's nothing I can do.

little fucking shits. I cannot begin to imagine what an utter nightmare this must be. I wouldn't want to see it either but someone needs to, hopefully the little fuckers will out themselves in some way on video.

sorry for the language but holy shit!

WaffilyVersatile · 02/01/2014 21:25

obviously do phone the police as well. I know its not what your ds wants but it is the right thing to do. if not whats to stop them doing it again?

gamerchick · 02/01/2014 21:26

The police are aware of and have seen the video right?

JeanSeberg · 02/01/2014 21:26

Leave it to the police. So sorry your family are going through this.

The horrible little shits! I remember when I was in secondary school happy slapping was the craze. It got done to me but the twats couldn't work the phone they mugged off someone so thankfully wasn't recorded. Hope your DS will be alright x

sickabouthis · 02/01/2014 21:31

yes the police do know about it, but initially ds was not very forthcoming, so my thought was just leave it and pursue it if the boys came after him again. I just found out this eve about it going viral. What I really want to do is see if I can get fb to get rid of the video ... is that even possible?

i'm sure he wants it to go away - but its out there now, and i think you should prosecute if you can.

if you know the website(s) contact them and get them removed,

lifehacker has some good tips here

sickabouthis · 02/01/2014 21:31

Weelady77 thanks for that x

Sadly once something has gone viral, its really hard to pull it back, even if you get it off the original sites.

The best you can do is have it used as evidence to catch and prosecute the little shits who did it.

InTheRedCorner · 02/01/2014 21:36

Have the school been made aware so they can stop anything further happening in school time next week?

I'm so sorry this has happened I would be hopping Angry some children Angry

I hope your son is ok.

CustardoPaidforIDSsYFronts · 02/01/2014 21:38

sickabouthis · 02/01/2014 21:45

Poxy little shits. This is disgusting. Would/could you contact the parents?
I'm so sorry to hear this, what is wrong with some people?
Could you ask someone you trust to watch it for you and feedback the possibility of identifying anyone.
Hope the gutless little shits get their comeuppance.
