just gone one, always been a rubbish sleeper, had gone through periods where he had to sleep really propped up on pillows (I think he's had silent reflux) and often struggled to breath with a cold unless similarly on a pillow - not just tilting cot/ bed etc, he had to sort of have his head tilted back. he snores a lot too.

had mmr jab 11 days ago, promptly got a cough which I've also caught and we've both had to sleep propped up together. however he always regularly tries to crawl off and sleep, waking and getting upset, but this week seems to have found lying back on my tummy helpful Hmm

its not about the bf to sleep etc, ive been feeling for some time now he just simply can't get comfy!

so baby pillow has come and I have to say the look of relief on his face as he lay back..........

fucking hope it helps!!!!

am I deluded?

Hmm, if tilting the cot wont work you could try a hideously expensive Mimos pillow - you can breathe through them.

shit should he not have a pillow? it's a lilla kuddis one Confused thought it ok after 1?

Just put bricks under one end of his cot. That way he won't need a pillow. If you think he has silent reflux then please do get him treated - it's v painful.

darjeelingdarling · 01/01/2014 21:13

well an hour and a half no squawking so far so good......

I think they are allowed a pillow after 1 but sometimes they slide down off it.

darjeelingdarling · 01/01/2014 21:16

I think he had silent reflux at 4-5 mo, we did have omeprazole though the wind was just as bad for him. he was much happier in the day though. he doesn't any more but is possibly so used to being tilted. we cosleep. I was never able to tilt the cot enough to help him without him wiggling sideways even with positioners etc.

watching him recently (often actually) 'self settle' (hate that phrase but basically go off to sleep him self) he then rolled his head side to side and wakes again cross and upset, sitting up etc. this happens over and over. so ..... maybe a pillow?

My ds has had a pillow from about 6 months (we live in a country where pillow use is normal even for tiny babies) He really loves his pillow, he was sick on it a couple of weeks ago and he was sad whilst the pillow was being washed and dried :(

How did it go?

Anomaly · 02/01/2014 15:15

Ds1 slept lots better once we gave him a pillow at about 14 months. Hope it helped.

darjeelingdarling · 02/01/2014 16:11

well - we've both got a nasty cough so neither of appears to be able to lie flat BUT he was definitely happier and slept better till his chest got wheezy and we both ended up sleeping propped up right all night!

but when we're better here's hoping!

Thanks!
