I am prepared to be told I am being u, as I hate my neighbours guts so may be being a bit sensitive about this. He is a nasty violent anti social bastard, but last night he was even more inconsiderate than usual.

We have a baby, which he knows, but he decided to play music at full blast in his bedroom on his own, above our bedroom. That was kind of to be expected with it being nye, so not too much of a problem. However he also decided to do DIY in the bedroom until 2am. He was using noisy power tools, hammering things and sanding things, all very noisy.

Aibu to think this was bang out of order? Or is it ok because it was nye? I don't know if I'm being stupid because he had his music going anyway, but the DIY was so loud it kept waking the baby and my earplugs wouldn't even block it out.

IMO music is to be expected, but DIY all night?

He is being out of order. Please call the anti social line and report him.

Noise nuisance, report him to the local authority or environmental health.

My upstairs neighbour was like this. Keep a diary of events and try to record some as evidence as well as reporting

Thanks for replying, I did think it was really quite out of order!
