Filimou · 01/01/2014 08:47

Since monday, I have had a general feeling of weakness/malaise, with an occasional high temp/bout of diarrhea. I will then feel better for a bit (last night I even thought I was better) but was up all last night on the frigging toilet. Immodium doesnt help at all and now Im just fucked off with it. Fucked off with being achey, fucked off with being tired and fucked off with constant runs, seriously my arse hurts so bad. AAAAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!

So am I! I've had it since the 5th December. Waiting for test results atm Sad

Fairylea · 01/01/2014 08:54

I am exactly the same. It's a nasty virus. I was even sick on my toddler's head yesterday as it came on so suddenly!

Don't take immodium though- if it's a virus it needs to work its way out of your body. You will just prolong it by taking it.

Drink lots, especially flat coke and lucozade and rest as much as you can.

Filimou · 01/01/2014 08:56

oh god orange you poor thing.
Im trying fairy but anything I eat/drink (even water) seems to set it off.

YANBU at all. Being ill is a pain.

You could use it to your advantage though if there is someone to wait on you.

oldgrandmama · 01/01/2014 09:00

Flat coke, yes - tastes not so good but excellent for awful diarrhoea. Lucozade too - except, all that fizz can be a bit aggravating to dodgy guts. Do try to eat something when you feel slightly better, even if it's just dry toast.

HandragsNGladbags · 01/01/2014 09:11

Have you had any diaoralyte? That always makes me feel better even if I still have the squits.

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 01/01/2014 09:16

Dare I say it, but when I had 2 weeks worth of the squits a couple of years ago, liberal application of Sudocreme to the afflicted area worked wonders!

Hope you feel better soon!

BodyMashIndex · 01/01/2014 09:23

I have, at a guess, IBS. I've had the trots for months.
Sad
I'm not even losing weight!
I feel your (arse) pain op.

kali110 · 01/01/2014 09:57

Body i feel your pain :-(
I was diagnosed with ibs years ago. Crippling pain and feeling sick. Then suddenly last year months of constantly rushing to the loo to be told its ibs.
Im not losing any weight either!

AlaskaNebraska · 01/01/2014 09:57

If

AlaskaNebraska · 01/01/2014 09:58

Imodium isn't working you should get a sample to doc. I know. But it sounds bad

Slutbucket · 01/01/2014 10:00

Immidium will be making it worse. As my GP friend told me you'be for to shit it out! Hope you feel better soon!

Slutbucket · 01/01/2014 10:01

You've got to shit it out!

LuciusMalfoyisSmokingHot · 01/01/2014 10:04

I feel you, I've had watery shit for the last two mornings thanks to crappy IBS, bloody awful.

FunnyFestiveTableRunner · 01/01/2014 10:35

Stop taking Immodium and let the bug run through. You need to get it out of your system. Also try and starve the bugger out. I got it on Saturday and ate white toast and sucked a few boiled sweets on Monday. Had my first proper small meal last night. It's shit literally but it eventually goes. I feel okay today albeit eating with caution. Have a thread in chat that might help Stomach bug survival I got tips there.

FunnyFestiveTableRunner · 01/01/2014 10:37

And your poor arse mine was burning I know your pain bloody tissue felt like a razor blade. Nearly put Metanium on but decided just to clench and hold at the end to give my beleaguered backside a break.

Flossyfloof · 01/01/2014 10:54

Yes they do say it needs to purge. Wash with cotton wool and water after every time. Put some Vaseline on your botbot, it will minimise damage from any exits.
Pile cream is good too.
Not that I am an expert or anything.

somethingchristmassy · 01/01/2014 12:26

wipe your bottom with baby wipes soaked in baby oil, followed by liberal application of sudocrem ;-)

Filimou · 01/01/2014 12:46

Thanks for all the advice ladies, have to admit, applying sudocrem to my own arse is my first new experience of 2014.....Grin

OP posts:
Flossyfloof · 01/01/2014 12:46

And dry with a hairdryer!

Showy · 01/01/2014 12:54

Don't dry with a hairdryer! They're germ HQ and might just introduce another bug for you to fight.

Poor you. DH has IBS and his life is ruled by the toilet. Miserable state of affairs. We have Vaseline and sudocrem by the loo and I don't ask but assume they help!

Flossyfloof · 01/01/2014 13:18

What do you mean? You are blowing germs onto yourself? Is that true??

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 01/01/2014 13:53

I swear by Lucosade sport (not the fizzy one) when the kids have rotavirus, so give that a try. My GP recommended we try it instead of dioralyte - she said it contains similar stuff but tastes much better. Worth a try.
Get well soon x

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 01/01/2014 13:55

blimey, I have been a bit squitty and with a sore tummy for days, feeling nauseous of and on and generally a bit knackered and blurgh. Thought it was general overdoing it except apart from xmas day drinks I have have hardly even got stuck in to all the food and drink. one mince pie all week! perhaps I have a mild version of this virus. Will drinking gin cure it?

OneHandFlapping · 01/01/2014 13:59

It certainly sounds worth a try EcclesCakes Grin
