Up to you

SS3J · 31/12/2013 15:06

YANBU. I've just told DP that I will stay home with our toddler while he goes to his family for the evening. I'm not up for staying up late then having to get up the usual time tomorrow. It's ok if you can have a lie in, but no chance of that with a 2-year-old!

SPsWantsCliffInHerStocking · 31/12/2013 15:06

Do what you want. I'm planning on been passed out before 12 Grin

hootloop · 31/12/2013 15:07

I won't stay up, I'm not a new year party type person.

JonSnowKnowsNothing · 31/12/2013 15:07

Nah, I wont be up at 12 either. I have the hugest pizza in the world, a bottle of prosecco (which'll probably be gone by 9) and that'll do me. Never have rated NYE.

LastingLight · 31/12/2013 15:08

I rarely stay up till midnight on NYE. Have to get up very early tomorrow morning anyway. Rather start the new year feeling fresh!

usualsuspect · 31/12/2013 15:08

It's not compulsory to stay up.

I will be up though,I rarely go to bed before midnight.

CaptainSweatPants · 31/12/2013 15:08

I'll be in bed by ten
I'm not drinking either, drank every day since Saturday so need a night off

lollipoppi · 31/12/2013 15:16

I won't see the new year until tomorrow morning! I'm not staying up to watch a few fireworks go off on the TV just realised how boring I have become

Eatriskier · 31/12/2013 15:19

Yanbu at all. I rarely bother unless I feel like being up. Don't see the point in starting the new year exhausted!

Though I may be joining sp in having passed out beforehand

trinity0097 · 31/12/2013 15:40

I'll be in bed about 9.30pm, planning to go into work and catch up on stuff tomorrow morning :-)

candycoatedwaterdrops · 31/12/2013 15:42

I was meant to be out but feeling rather poorly, so imagine I'll be in bed too!

mousmous · 31/12/2013 15:45

I'm used to my sleep pattern and if I don't get my sleep I get grumpy and feel ill. esp when the dc take no notice and are up at the usual time. yawn.
to have an unusual bedtime throws me and it takes a few days to get back to normal.

littleredsquirrel · 31/12/2013 15:47

We never do NYE. This year we are going to a party. Ive been looking forward to it and of course I'm now ill feel like crap and want to bed in bed already. Not even going to be able to drink because I'll be snoring in a corner somewhere if I do.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 31/12/2013 15:48

I am not planning to stay up. Midnight will happen whether I am conscious to witness it or not.

tinselkitty · 31/12/2013 15:51

Nope, I'll be at home with my 15mo DD, DH will be working same as every year I think it's totally pointless to struggle in to 12 on my own to wish myself a happy new year, watch all the drunken text come in them try and drag myself out of bed at 7 if I'm lucky tmrw morning.

And this is from the girl who up until 2 years ago thought that bed before 4am on NYE was cheating

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 31/12/2013 15:51

we are off to the pub in a minute, few drinks then probably home to watch TV bake a camembert or something with avocado with a bottle of red. doubt we will make it until 12 but may end up having fun and staying out. At the moment I feel ready for a nap never mind the pub.

TheHippyWhoWearsLippy · 31/12/2013 15:54

No, me either I'll be in bed cuddled up with the kids. Cant be bothered with with NYE. Do what suits you.

Swanbridge · 31/12/2013 16:05

We're having fondue and a bottle of champagne, and to be in bed by 11pm tops. Hopefully a bit earlier since the fireworks are like heavy warfare round here at midnight for about half an hour and if you're not properly, deeply asleep you have no chance of going to sleep when they're going off. I'm usually jumpy that one's going to come through the window or some idiot's Chinese lantern is going to set the house on fire ok, maybe not this year

dontcallmemam · 31/12/2013 16:12

Can't get a taxi before 3am here so have decided to stay at home instead of going to a party.
When they DC were little we had friends round with same aged DC. They all wanted to stay up until midnight. We put the clocks forward by 2 hours, popped a cork and sang at 10pm then off to bed. Result.

wibblychristmasjelly · 31/12/2013 16:13

Nope, after being up half of last night with a sick ds, I plan on being asleep by midnight, unless ds decides to be sick everywhere again...

alfiet · 31/12/2013 16:19

I won't be staying up as my baby is a poor sleeper and I know he will be up in the night Hmm would love to go to bed and actually get sleep Hmm

CharlieAlphaKiloEcho · 31/12/2013 16:26

I might stay up if I can clear this headache but I will be in bed watching netflix and will probably only notice it's midnight when the fireworks start!

secretscwirrels · 31/12/2013 16:33

I haven't stayed up on NYE (or any other night for that matter) since 1994. Grin
In 1995 I was 42 weeks pregnant and I haven't bothered since.
