Before I scream or go insane.

I got back last night about 6pm after staying with my best friend for Christmas eve and Christmas day, and the alarm was going off then, I eventually managed to get to sleep and its still going off now! It hasn't stopped, whether its been going off since Christmas eve or not I don't know but its driving me insane!

Is it a car or house alarm? Could you call 101 (non-emergency) and ask them what you could do? Sympathy, one of the most annoying things ever!

DoItTooBabyJesus · 27/12/2013 11:56

Call environmental health!

They will get it turned off. They can even break in and cut off internal alarms.

Mia4 · 27/12/2013 13:50

Call 101 OP, if it's a house alarm there could be a burglary in progress.

MintyChops · 27/12/2013 13:52

So so so bloody annoying, sympathy....

PigletJohn · 27/12/2013 14:16

sometimes such sirens accidentally fall off the wall and are accidentally driven over.

A ladder may help.

In most cases, alarms are only allowed to sound for 20 minutes.

Is there a phone no or company name on the box?

It is neighbourly for the people next door to look over the fence and through the windows for signs of a break in. Have you done that yet? If you see such signs, the police will attend when they have time. They do not attend false alarms with no reports of a criminal.

Apparently it started Christmas day, so any burglar would be long gone I should imagine, I went out and came back to peace and quiet. Its nice now. I couldn't see any signs of damage and its a gym, so there is no alarm outside to notice

They have to be law reset after 20 minutes. If it isn't doing so ring the council (noise pollution)and the police.

Arkina · 27/12/2013 20:03

The police can't do anything about alarms ringing. If you call them they'll come out and check the house is secure but can't stop the noise I'm afraid

Arkina · 27/12/2013 20:04

Just noticed its a gym, the police may have a key holder listed for the premises on their system
