To be so upset for my boy

It's my ds birthday today. He came down with a stomach bug yesterday and is being sick and feels rotten. He didn't move off the sofa yesterday and spent most of the day running to the toilet and lying on the sofa in pain.

We are meant to have a family party today. I am going to have to cancel it as there are a lot of children coming and I can't risk anyone getting ill. He has just told me he doesn't want anyone to come as he doesn't want to make anyone sick. He wouldn't even have a kiss and cuddle this morning as he doesn't want to make me sick.

I am so upset for him. He has been looking forward to Christmas and birthday for so long and it's been ruined for him.

He's five today

Happy birthday to your son and hope he gets well soon.

Could you rearrange his party for the new year

Sceptimum · 26/12/2013 07:24

The poor thing! Hoping he feels better soon. Can you reschedule his party for in the new year?

Am extra sympathetic as I have also spent the last two days barfing.

foofooyeah · 26/12/2013 07:33

Oh your poor boy. Take him out somewhere lovely when he is better.

Poor thing. I remember how upset DD was when I had to postpone her 6th birthday party because of heavy snow. Make a fuss of your DS and make sure he understands the party is postponed rather than cancelled - DD struggled to grasp the difference at first.

Hope he's better soon.

Lweji · 26/12/2013 07:56

Can't you reschedule for the weekend?

I have always done DS's parties at the following available weekend, as his tends to fall on a school day.

You can still make it special with blowing up candles today and opening your presents.

PumpkinPie2013 · 26/12/2013 11:19

Aww your poor ds Sad

And bless him not wanting to make others ill!

Agree with others can you re-schedule for him?

Happy birthday to him anyway and hope he feels better soon x

SledYuleCated · 26/12/2013 11:27

Oh poor him, but he sounds a lovely, kind boy. DSis is down with similar and we had to postpone family coming round last night, but she's 26!

Happy Birthday DS Cake

Haveacwtch · 26/12/2013 21:53

Thanks all. He has been much better today and no more sickness luckily. Hoping the rest of us stay well.

It was family coming round today. We gave everyone the choice to stay away and I would have understood if they had and was expecting it. Instead everyone came and my little boy had a wonderful time.

Glad he had a lovely tome. He sounds an absolute poppet!

Time. Bloody ipad

flyingspaghettimonster · 28/12/2013 02:27

Poor kid... We ha to delay Chrismas till today as we all had puking bugs. Was depressing, but in the end we still had a lovely Christmas - just a bit late. Hope he enjoys having a second birthday this year like the queen. He sounds a lovely thoughtful kid, not like my germ sharing little plague mongers...

pricklyPea · 28/12/2013 04:43

Poor little chap.
Sounds like a sweetie. Just rearrange his celebration if you can.
Hope you're all feeling better. X
