To want to just chill now?

I was first up today, have cooked a whole Christmas dinner, waiting on Dh and in laws all day, made ten ton of small talk let the dog in and out all day and now I just want to sit with a glass of wine and they want to play scrabble. I'm tired and brain dead but I have to play scrabble. Next year is me on my own definately!

YANBU. Let them play scrabble and you relax with your wine.

My evening is now my own, and I'm not doing anything taxing other than lifting a wine glass. Xmas Grin

I've cooked Xmas dinner, entertained dh's family, hoovered, let the dogs in/out all day, mucked out 2 horse stables & made a chocolate log from stratch.

But now the babies asleep & Downton is on soon, plus there's 1/2 a bottle of champagne left. (dh did clean up, wash up, gave the baby dinner etc)

Next year I swear we're going out for lunch, alone, no extended family!

I hear you !
Exactly the same here . I'm now sat by the fire with a nice glacé of wine doing nothing but look at the lights on the tree (and MN!)

We are chilling here, eating 'party food' but I would love a game of scrabble. I play a lot but only online, as DC age 7 and 8 are not a challenge and DP doesn't really like playing as much as I do.

I don't blame you for wanting to chill, if that is what you want to do.

Play passive-aggressive Scrabble.

Spell out words like 'slave' and 'tired' while you mop your weary brow.

How come your dh has sat on his arse all day?

If you want to chill just say no to Scrabble and put the telly on.

Crinkle77 · 25/12/2013 20:06

Have to agree with youthecat. Why have you let your husband get away with doing nothing?

I'm on the same wave length, my house is upside down inside out, decided to leave the car at home and I'm having a few drinks.

Tbf he was up til 3am wrapping his dads presents and been teaching his parents their new tablet ALL day as well as being wine waiter. One game and they are all off to bed now so we are going to snuggle on sofa and watch a film just the two of us!
