To be a wee bit annoyed with Waitrose?

Two little niggles: Waitrose Christmas pudding - outside says cooking instructions are on inside of wrapping. Indeed they are, the label is well stuck onto dark red Cellophane wrappping - can't read instructions through the dark red and as for unpeeling the instructions - impossible.

Secondly, my fresh 'Bronze Dry Aged' whatever blah blah blah turkey, from Prince Charles/Duchy Originals whatever. Came in nice box. Little note inside said refer to box for cooking times ... oldgrandma referred to box, but NO indication of cooking times.

AND - bloody bird hasn't been trussed. Its legs, wings flapping all over the place. Oldgrandmama has done her best with some green garden twine but still ... you'd think Prince Charles might have bothered to tie the sodding thing up properly.

Happy Christmas to you all.

How do you get to 'old grandma' stage and not know how to just wing it without referring to cooking guidelines??

Come on, you know how to do all this

oldgrandmama · 25/12/2013 13:11

I know, I know, RedLondonBus, of course I know ... but Waitrose should still do proper instructions. I shall be writing a 'more in sorrow than anger' letter to them post Christmas - and they'll reply with a voucher or two!

I discovered last night that the cream I bought last week for trifle had gone off, and in fact would have been out of date when I bought it. Irritating. Dessert is now jelly and ice cream! Xmas Grin

I'm a big waitrose fan, and used to work for them. However I was annoyed that the stuffing meat we bought on the 23rd went out of date on the 24th (I froze it but still), and that the very expensive dessert (Heston Lychee thingybob) that DP has instead of Christmas pudding is teeny tiny.

I bought one of those Heston Blumenwhatsit cakes in the shape of a Christmas Pudding. Thought it was chocolate but it is in fact a fruit cake. One slice got eaten. I just caught the cat noshing into it (weird animal).
