And just go mad puddle jumping in this weather?

She's 3yo, she's bored of being indoors, is excited about Christmas and is causing more carnage than a bull in a china shop.

She's not going to melt is she but I would feel the neighbours cats bums mouths through their windows.

Gosh yes do it

hot choc when you come in

TinselinaBumSquash · 23/12/2013 10:29

Both my elder 2 (7&9) we're out in the rain yesterday, they requested to stay out and play in it, they had coats on so I let them and made sure I had a warm bath, pjs and hot chocolate waiting when they came in. :D

totally fine. no problem! join in Smile

trinity0097 · 23/12/2013 10:33

No bad weather, only inappropriate clothing!!!!

Rissolesfortea · 23/12/2013 10:35

She'll be fine, just watch out if its windy, falling branches etc. Its blowing a gale here and even I wouldn't go out and I'm no lightweight

Hulababy · 23/12/2013 10:36

Sounds like a lovely ide. If I saw a neighbour doing that with their little one it would simply make me smile, definitely not frown or judge.

EdithWeston · 23/12/2013 10:36

It's fine, as long as it is puddle jumping.

If you are flooded (and I do hope not) then you need to keep out of the waters.

Joysmum · 23/12/2013 10:36

Omg yes! We go out in all weathers as I have a pony.

We also go Geocaching and this is best done in bad weather to limit muggle activity and discovery.

TheGreatHunt · 23/12/2013 10:38

I would go ASAP depending where you are. There are weather warnings out in some parts so check first.

I wouldn't though and I'm not a fair weather parent! We've got loads of big old trees and two little ones. Even with decent waterproofs, no way!

BehindLockNumberNine · 23/12/2013 10:41

Go for it!!

Dd (just 11) is at the stables today, she has just become a helper there and is super keen. Even this weather has not put her off (and she got soaked through on Sat)
I am slightly concerned about falling branches (or flying ponies) as the wind seems to be picking up here (SE) but I know that the yard owner will close the riding school and will message the parents to come and collect if she feels it is not safe.

Great fun!

dollylarma · 23/12/2013 10:42

It's windy and raining as we are up in the valley's, but she has snow jackets and trousers (god bless Aldi's)

She's currently sliding down my stairs in an old sleeping bag (with sofa cushions at the bottom to soften the impact!)

Do it, it will save your sanity!

BuntyPenfold · 23/12/2013 12:02

Do it, but not under trees!

onedogandababy · 23/12/2013 12:08

Do it, mine (1.11) has been out splashing in huge puddles with dp & ddog this morning.

She's not absorbed water by osmosis! Did require a trouser & tight change though. Stupidly waterproof trousers are wrapped under the tree!

specialsubject · 23/12/2013 12:19

go for it, missing out the obvious Darwin award stuff such as under trees in wind and along seafronts.

There is an Asimov short about a family of aliens who were actually made of sugar, but assuming she is homo sapiens she'll be fine!

dollylarma · 23/12/2013 12:21

Well here's the update:

We went out, DD jumped in about a thousand puddles, threw a ball for sthe neighbours dog who then proceeded to soak us all with muddy water, DD then declared that "Billy Wind has a strop on" Hmm and that we should go in for hot chocolate and paw patrol, including said muddy dog Grin
