by some of the selfish and mean spirited threads on here lately.

A person who thinks that a women was irresponsible for spreading germs and should have not left the house after she was sick in a supermarket.

Someone not wanting her husband to buy his colleagues chocolates for Christmas because she thought they had caused her DH to have negative reviews.

People chucking their Christmas Cards away.

Feeling that 6 bottles of wine is too extravagant a gift for a school teacher.

Jesus Christ, if this is a reflection of society, then I want to live in a different one.

Mean.

Christmas seems to bring out a load of mean spirited people.

In fact I've had it up to here listening about Christmas.

Isn't there a deficated forum?

Bah humbug. I've missed the point, haven't i?

YouTheCat · 22/12/2013 19:42

Aw Period let the meanies get on with it. They'll have crap Christmases anyway, spreading their meanness. Whilst we have a lovely time being happy and relaxed and spreading joy.

I even sent my exmil a quarter of the Christmas cake I'd baked because I know how much she likes it - and this is despite many cruel words over the years. But she's getting older and she was so happy to have it.

I've got her and the ex a nice bottle of wine to have with their dinner too because I know they'll not bother otherwise and I want them to have a nice time.

Shit, really? Oh no. Xmas Blush Shall I ask them to take it down?

Don't worry period there's been a few nasty threads about threads on here recently, this one isnt nasty really. I agree everyone has got a bit grinchy but hey each to their own. Lots of stress at this time of year and this is a good place to have a vent.

6 bottles of wine is a bit ostentatious as a teachers gift. I don't see how saying so is "mean-spirited".

If you don't like this society, try another one.

Beastofburden · 23/12/2013 21:23

Aww there are some lovely threads. There is the franglais storm watchers one, for instance.

Iamsparklyknickers · 23/12/2013 21:27

I kind of understand the frazzled nerves around Christmas because some people make such a big production of it and get so precious about the 'right' way to do things.

Don't know if you've been here long OP but the posts around Valentines and Mothers Day bring out some doozies to make you lose your faith in humanity.
