to let DD2 sleep on the floor?

She's just 1, being a stroppy madam about sleep tonight. She was in bed with us, and was screaming and twisting so I let her down onto the floor for a couple of minutes. 2 seconds later, she's done baby starfish in the middle of the floor and is fast asleep. I've covered her with a blanket, she can't get out of the baby proof room so even if she wakes up and I don't, she's safe. DH thinks I should try and get her back in cot, I think she's fine where she is?

So long as she can't go anywhere and won't get stepped on I'm sure she'll tell you when she's had enough of it.

It's a lovely image of her ligging out taking up more space than she's a right to

Also nice that you DH wants to know she's safe in her cot before he can get off to sleep.

She'll be fine.

My 1 year old sleeps on the floor a lot. Mostly in the day bit he's fine. If he's not been sleeping and that's where he sleeps that's where he stays. He can't fall off the floor!

DD2 has a talent for falling out of bed, from 2-12 she's been known to spend the odd night on the floor. Doesn't seem to bother her.

They're great when they do that! DS used to get out of bed in the middle of the night for whatever reason and it was obviously too much effort to get back in bed around the bed guard. I used to find him in the morning doing that bum in the air thing fast asleep under the rug
