Dd (2.5) and I were sitting eating lunch in a cafe today. Our coats were over the back of the chairs. We were sitting next to the window. A woman in her late 60's/ early 70's came squeezing behind us to sit at the next table. I saw her approaching and started to try and pull our chairs in ca little more but she just kept coming, then spilt hot tea all over our coats. A step further forward and it would have been all over dd. [confused] Instead of apologising, she launched into a tirade about us not leaving enough room for her to get past. If she had gone in front of our table she would have had a clear path. [hmm] I was more concerned about getting our stuff cleaned up and said, "my god, an inch further and you would have poured that boiling tea over my daughter. She then loudly complained that I had no respect for my elders and hadn't apologised or got her a new tea. I just couldn't believe she didn't accept this was her fault, apologise and then took this as an insult against the elderly. I think she was the insult to older people. [angry]
