only 1 dd has got her christmas card from santa

Both DD's wrote lovely letter to santa and posted it to the address supplied by royal mail, but only 1 dd has had a reply. The other dd (age 7) now thinks santa hasn't received her letter and is currently panicking.
Now, I know we have a few days left for it to arrive but DD2's arrived over a week ago. Should i contact them or am I being petty?

same problem here. no solution, but I'd go for explaining to disappointed DD that even father Christmas has to rely on royal mail, and as they aren't magic like him sometimes things get lost in the post. my DS (aged 8) is being philisopical about it (I suspect he doesn't fully believe in Santa this year) and we are going for the angle that one reply shows he definitely got them.... if nothing by xmas Eve, maybe a note in her stocking blaming the post Grin

Oh dear... if it doesn't turn up, you'll have to explain that santa had so many letters this year that the reindeer carrying his replies from the North Pole was overloaded so he's doing the little children before the big girls.

Do one yourself as a back up.

Laurel1979 · 18/12/2013 18:29

I've given up on Royal Mail and even the NSPCC one that you make a £5 donation for failed to turn up last year. I've started printing my own - there are some great free printable ones online.

DD got in a tiz a couple of days ago as she forgot to ask Santa to send her a card with her presents. I agreed to phone him once she had gone to bed and was able to confirm with him that the request has been received.

I'd do your own and explain it like that (or similar).

DustyBaubles · 18/12/2013 18:46

We had this happen more than once.

We went with the 'he only replies to a random sample' thing.

Doubt you'll get anywhere with Royal Mail.

SantanaLopez · 18/12/2013 18:51

Make your own and say that one was from Chief Elf Commander?

Whathaveiforgottentoday · 18/12/2013 19:14

some great ideas, I'm going to have to come up with a good idea. Its bad enough that I dd1 thinking she is the naughtier one of out the 2 without santa confirming it.

Can you see her in therapy in her 30's bringing up the memory that santa didn't bother replying to her card!

You can print some really good ones free from the internet, try that?

revivingshower · 18/12/2013 19:40

Can you try someone's suggestion on another thread of getting a not well known to dd elderly male friend or relative to ring up pretending to be Santa?

CSIJanner · 18/12/2013 19:58

Get online to portable North Pole. Follow the guidelines and poof! Both DC's have a video from Santa and his elves. You could even pay for an extra scene for your DD that didnt receive her letter. Set it up but leave it a couple of days to see if hers turns up.
