Ds2 (15 months) has got his mmr jab at 3pm this afternoon but has woken up really full of cold and v grumpy. He's just refused his lunch which isn't like him at all. Really not sure if now us a great time to send him for a jab that could make him even more grumpy and ill over the next week with Xmas coming.

So I guess not really aibu but wwyd? Suck it up, take him and get it over with or rearrange for the new year?

Re-arrange. I would.

I would rearrange. Just because he's not feeling well.

One of my DCs was absolutely full of the cold before her MMR - in fact, I took her to the GP as we thought she might have a chest infection. The GP said no, just a heavy cold but he looked on his computer and said 'I see she's having her MMR tomorrow - shall we rearrange that? I don't think it's a good idea to overload their little bodies when it's easy enough to wait.'

So, I'd call and re-arrange. Hope he feels better soon.

I would re-arrange. It sounds as though he is starting with a bug, the last thing his immune system needs right now is more to deal with. Ring the surgery and tell them he is unwell, if you do it now they will be able to offer your slot to someone else.

Thanks ladies, rearranged for start of jan, feel much better about that than takin him today when he's under the weather anyway!

I think you're not supposed to have jabs if you are already ill - not because they will get more ill necessarily but the jab might not work so well.
