to think the other reindeer weren't very nice to Rudolf?

Baby-sitting next-door's DS (6), he sang Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer to me and said he thought the other reindeer were horrible and Rudolf couldn't help having a red nose and anyway it was nice! Grin

Yesterday my 14 year old DS, whilst watching Polar Express, decided that Santas reindeer had been 'chasing the white pony' all day. I know that there is no excuse for bad behaviour, but maybe this could explain (a little) why they behaved this way.

I agree completely. They're a bunch of bullies, brown-nosing :) the boss!

I have issues with the Ugly Duckling too! It always seems to me that the message of that is horrible - you can only mix and be happy with your own kind (racist) and that if you're ugly, of course it's normal that everyone will hate you and the only way out is to become beautiful - terrible messages.

They were bastards. Bullying him one minute then "dancing around with glee" because he's guiding the sleigh. Any friendships that followed must have felt pretty shallow.

Rudolph definitely would have had a good case for bullying in the workplace. He should have gone to HR to put in a complaint.

When I was little (about 8) I remember being worried one Christmas about Rudolph being the odd one out and unliked by the other reindeer so I did a picture and wrote the song out for him and left it with his carrot. DM kept it and my spelling was horrendous, I had written:

Redrumf the red nosed rendare
Had a very sinny nos
And if you ever seed it
You wad even say it goes
Then was foggy Christmas Eve
Santa cam to see
Redrumf with your nos so Brit
Will you gad my sell to nine
All of the the other rendares
Shouted at him with glee
Redrumf the red nos rendare
You go down in hestrumpredry

DM showed my dd1 this and she was in hysterics and keeps singing 'my' version!
