Inspired by the what's your favourite musical thread I decided to see what's on around my area musical wise.

Rent is touring in feb and I would love to go!!

My mum has always been my theatre buddy and shares my love of musical theatre. However she has never seen rent (film or live) and doesn't particularly know the story or songs.
If it was a show I knew she really loved I wouldn't be hesitating in buying tickets for her Xmas pressie but as she doesn't know it Im worried she might think its an odd choice. I'm possibly over thinking this though.

Would it be a nice Xmas present for her to buy us tickets to go in feb or does it seem a bit self indulgent??

get the tickets, but also get her something to unwrap that you know she likes/wants.

Buy her the soundtrack/video if there is one - give it to her at Christmas so she will know the songs by the time it comes round and tell her you know she'll love it Grin

I just bought Evita tickets for my daughter's Christmas..

We got Matilda tickets as a family for last Christmas. We all thought it was brilliant.

Actually we got theatre vouchers-would that be better, so she could choose?

I would do theatre vouchers but won't be able to do anything that's not local as I have a young baby so wouldn't be able to leave her for very long. And rent is on local to us!

I'm sure she will love it and yes getting the DVD is a good idea!!
