Ok MNers I need some help..
Dd has a horse voice, cough and now little tiny white blisters all over the end of her tongue.
Any ideas what she could have?
Never come across this one before..
Thanks :)

Neigh, I don't have a clue.
Does she have a temperature? A temp would suggest an infection of some sort.

Ruffcat · 13/12/2013 19:45

Hand foot and mouth?

NickNacks · 13/12/2013 19:45

Tonsillitis?

Hand foot and mouth?

She might be coming down with a colt. I hope she doesn't stay ill furlong.

BigfingersInTheBrandyCream · 13/12/2013 19:48

Grin throwingstones

mycatoscar · 13/12/2013 19:49

Do her toes and fingers hurt when she bends them? Or have tiny bumps on them?

Sounds like hand foot and mouth. Me and dd had it a few years back and the dr mistakenly diagnosed her with tonsillitis.

BigfingersInTheBrandyCream · 13/12/2013 19:49

prob hand foot mouth, I agree

ditsydoll · 13/12/2013 19:50

No temp.. I'm baffled! No sores on hands or feet so woupdnt of thought hand foot and mouth?
Definately not tonsilitis, iv had that enough times to recognise it.
Just tiny little blisters all over the tip of her tongue

First time you come out with the herpes virus you can get horrible throat/mouth symptoms Sad

ditsydoll · 13/12/2013 19:58

Oh no randomness really? I have a 6 month old in the house! Should I be worried?

OP posts:
RandomMess · 13/12/2013 20:17

I have no idea, I only know how awful it can because it happened to a friends dc - she lived off fromage frais for weeks. I would research the symptoms and see if it fits?

tinytalker · 13/12/2013 20:19

Is the tongue very red with it/slightly swollen? Are her cheeks red? Could be scarlet fever but then you would get a temp with.

OHforDUCKSchristmasCake · 13/12/2013 20:21

Thw white blisters could be trush? Im thinking in case she doesnt have a temp.

And perhaps the cough (croup?) isnt related?

Or perhaps its hand foot and mouth virus.

Norudeshitrequired · 13/12/2013 20:26

If it looks like the one on the link then it could be herpes

bellesbelle · 13/12/2013 20:27

Thrush? It can sometimes cause a sore throat, if the thrush has reached the back of the throat

Norudeshitrequired · 13/12/2013 20:27

Cold and virus like symptoms are common with a first outbreak of herpes.

ditsydoll · 13/12/2013 20:39

It does look abit like that.. oh I feel sick now. Called put of hours.

OP posts:
Norudeshitrequired · 13/12/2013 20:52

Don worry if it is herpes - it's very common and any further outbreaks will be much milder than the first one.
Oral herpes isn't anything to be ashamed of, it's just a common virus.
Just make sure that she doesn't kiss baby whilst she has sores and the virus is active.

RandomMess · 13/12/2013 21:13

That looks very sore Sad

ditsydoll · 13/12/2013 21:35

Just called out of hours, they Saud it all just sounds viral and not to worry. I will keep baby away from her while she has blisters just incase.
Hers are more like tiny fluid filled pimples on her tongue and only on the very tip (about a 10 pence piece sized cluster)
