I didn't ask you lot as I had a nagging feeling that I might be unresonale Blush

I have picked a bit of a fight with T-Mobile but it turns out that I am in the wrong, well partly.

I tried to contact them about my mobile broadband that I was having problems with but always ended up on hold, eventually when I did get through the girl I spoke to said tat she couldn't help as their computers were down. I lost patients with them and cancelled the dd thinking that I was out of contract. Had a huge row with them on on the phone this week swearing black was blue that I had only a 12 month contract.. I have since dug out the only email that they have ever sent me 19 months ago and yes it is a 2 year contract Blush

In mitigation the ladies I spoke to were very rude to me. And I have honestly tried on lots of occasions to call their support lines but it is expensive on a mobile phone when the hold time is normally 20 mins and its an 0845 number.

I feel bad as I did kind of lose it when the customer care assistant called me "sweetheart" and "love" but not in a good way.

Pay the contract fine (if you can) and leave. I don't think there is any professional capacity where referring to a customer as sweetheart is acceptable. YABU for cancelling but definitely YANBU for being angry.

I know you are right star its just I'm scared ashamed to call them back to pay the fee Blush

Google "say no to 0870" and see if there's a cheaper/free number for them. This website has saved me a fortune!

Oh & YABU to shout at people only trying to do their job, although if anyone called me "sweetheart" in a condescending way I'd struggle not to bite.

CarolPrankster · 12/12/2013 17:06

Oh good idea, I used that site a lot while a student, seem to have forgotten about itHmm

And, I know, I know

Unfortunately the whole experience of calling a company's customer support line is very frustrating, calling a premium rate number, being put on hold, computer problems etc and a lot of that frustration ends up being taken out on the customer service assistant when it is not their fault.

What is their fault is being rude to you and calling you sweetheart and love in a patronising way. They definitely shouldn't have done that but they are only human and were probably also frustrated with the situation.

It's good that you recognise that you were partly in the wrong. Don't be worried about calling back, you will be speaking to a completely different person. Be polite and to the point and tell them you are calling to pay the fee and they should be happy to hear that.

On another note, it's worth checking if the missed payments have affected your credit rating.

CarolPrankster · 12/12/2013 18:18

To be perfectly honest I don't care about my credit rating, its not going to effect it to the point where I am refused credit. I used to get myself so worked up over credit ratings until I realised that it was just a stick with which these companies can threaten you with, point is they still want my custom.. I don't have credit cards or loans so

I will pay up as on that point I am in the wrong, I wish they would just send me a slip to fill out so I could send a cheque but the letter they sent asking for the money just gave a phone number to the wrong department another reason I was less than reasonable by the time I had found the correct number and then been left on hold for 20 mins

I did point out to her that it wasn't her fault, she just worked there but she was quite cross with me by that point and wasn't prepared to be reasonable Grin

Just so you know, I wasn't having a go by mentioning the credit rating implications, I just wasn't sure if you are aware of them.

CarolPrankster · 13/12/2013 13:58
