Because this year we have received, so far, a grand total of 5? I think I kept them rather than write a list of who sent them to us......

I keep mine in a pile. Blush

seventiesgirl · 11/12/2013 21:29

So far this year the tree has gone up. That's it. End of decorating. I like to think my jovial personality makes up for the rest of it. ha.

No tree yet. The cat's stocking is up and I have found the santa hats and the farting santa so far.

thegreylady · 11/12/2013 21:34

My tree and decs are still in the loft :(
Sunday will be decoration day-I hope :)

DameEdnasBridesmaid · 11/12/2013 21:39

greylady same here, trying to summon up some motivation to retrieve them.

As for cards, I only send to relatives that live away and I just leave the ones I do receive in a pile. Cards = waste of money to me.

Bigfingers · 11/12/2013 21:43

i've got 5 too two are from my children !

Aren't our friends and family shit ace?

Bigfingers · 11/12/2013 21:44

strikeout fail Angry .

ohtanmybum · 11/12/2013 21:58

My decs go up 20th Dec and come down 2 Jan, that's quite enough Christmas for me.

I'm tempted, we moved 6 months ago and family and friends still send stuff to our old, old address even after I corrected them last year. So far we've had 2 Hmm

ohtanmybum · 11/12/2013 22:02

Seventies 4 cards here. One made me laugh out loud - v excited Joseph rushes out of stable shouting 'It's a girl'.

ChillieJeanie · 11/12/2013 22:31

My first Christmas card this year was from my accountant. I can't decide if I feel suddenly grown up or just old.

MinnieBar · 11/12/2013 22:36

YANBU. Here's a good tip: staple (on the back part of the card) the prettiest/most impressive/glitteriest ones you get to a wide ribbon. Hang said ribbon vertically down a wall. Store with your Xmas decs for next year - then voila, instant cards and festive cheer!

daisychain01 · 11/12/2013 22:38

I have had the grand total of two cards, and one of those was from the local building company to "the homeowners" Sad

Feeling unloved...

But then again I am not doing my cards until this weekend because Im a lazy caaaaaahhhh very busy, so its my own fault really.

SatinSandals · 11/12/2013 22:41

I am cutting down on cards and so wish that I had fewer. I can't see any point in putting up last years.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 11/12/2013 22:43

You need to be a teacher. I've got loads. Most with fluffy kittens.

DeckTheHallsWithBoughsOfHorry · 11/12/2013 22:44

My DC will be making a collage of last year's. No, really.

daisychain01 · 11/12/2013 22:45

Minnie, I love your instant card display ribbon. I may do it this year, as I have some saved cards from previous years.

A dear friend of mine brings out some cards from people who have passed away, and puts them on the mantelpiece so that he pretends they sent their cards that year, which I think is a lovely thought

Scarletohello · 11/12/2013 22:48

I got a card addressed to my neighbour and misrakenky mistakenly sent to us. She's the neighbour from hell so I am tempted to open it and keep it! Ha ha

maddy68 · 11/12/2013 22:49

I don't send cards so rarely get any. I give a donation to charity instead. They just clutter up the place

ViviPru · 11/12/2013 22:55

I think this year has seen a definite seed change with cards. We had the usual bay-windowsill-full last year but yes, only 5 here so far this year too.

It's the first year I seriously considered not bothering too but DH was so shocked and perturbed when I suggested not sending any that I relented. Although they're still all sitting written on the breakfast bar where they've been since Sunday awaiting their stamps. Maybe you're one of my friends/family, OP and your card is sat here gradually getting dogeared

BerryChristmas · 11/12/2013 23:04

Oh seventiesgirl you have beaten me by 1 (we've received 4) and, of those, one is from the vets after we had to have our beloved dog put to sleep last week......and one is from the Donkey Sanctuary we support !!

I hope the neighbours get their acts together soon Grin

HerrenaHarridan · 11/12/2013 23:05

You should join the would you like a Xmas card thread I've got 2 from mnetters (thanks Smile) and one from next door.

Mine are still to be sent but nearly there.
Me and dd make them all so far about half are made, written in, handprinted and addressed

seventiesgirl · 11/12/2013 23:07

My first one came in November! I usually keep home made ones etc and hang them up from a ribbon but hadn't thought of stapling them on permanent basis. Genius!
