so I am on a 30 mph road

I am doing 30

tge speed checker thing also tells me I am doing 30... in red

if I do 25 it is green
if I do 28 it is Amber
if I do 30 it is red.

why? why???? I'm doing the RIGHT THING

Near me, there is a speed checker which is on the border of where a 40 zone turns into a 30 zone.

The speed checker is set to 30 as it's within the 30 zone- yet it is measuring the speed of cars win the 40 zone. Consequently it insists I am speeding every time I pass the sign. (And before anyone points out that you should be slowing down so you're doing 30 by the time you pass the sign, I take a perverse sort of pleasure in making the sign say I am speeding, but ensuring that I have slowed to 30 by the time I pass the sign)

There is one near me that flashed when you go over 30 in a 40 zone. It tells you there are schools nearby very disapprovingly. It does this at all hours of the day or night regardless of school hours.

Yabu. Maybe it's red so if you glance at it you are aware that you are close to going over the speed limit (because you're on the speed limit) whereas green you're ages away and amber, kind of close.

But I don't drive so who knows

Sutekidane- but then that doesn't differentiate between being close and actually going over. It should be red only if you are doing 31 or over, surely?

Maybe it does something different if its over? OP, get back out and go over the limit (joke!). Maybe it flashes if its over?
