AIBU that I can't buy maternity knickers in M+S???

I recently had a birthday and treated myself to a day of shopping and a haircut. I had M+S vouchers to spend and thought I'd buy a nice set of matching maternity underwear, except in my local M+S store you can only buy maternity bras, if you want knickers you have to buy online. Don't get me wrong I'm really good at shopping online but every now and then I like to go into a shop, see what I want and buy it. The same day I went to New Look for some maternity clothes to be told the same thing - buy it online... I know there are others shops where I can buy maternity clothes and underwear but I'm finding the choice so limited and it's really annoying me...

I didn't know maternity knickers existed! Can you just get granny knickers? That's what I wore after I'd had dd - from marks and spencer.

CailinDana · 09/12/2013 21:09

I never bought maternity knickers (two pregnancies) ordinary knickers did just fine.

What are maternity knickers? I bought some of those horrible papery plasticky ones for after the birth.

I never had maternity knickers. I had granny knickers in black.

I didn't bother with maternity knickers. I just wore my normal ones and they stopped just under my bump anyway.

Buying anything "maternity" in a shop seems to be a challenge these days. It's all well and good buying

Do maternity knickers even exist? I've had two pregnancies and just worn normal knickers OP.

Maternity knickers are a waste of money IMO, I wore normal ones then (currently!) huge granny ones after my section. I did try to buy nursing bras in my local M&S to be told they only sell them online, which I found stranger!

What you want to do is look up Emma Jane Maternity they do great maternity and nursing bras, maternity swimsuits, night shirts, tights and two types of knickers.

Type 1 Granny style over the bump, so comfy I preferred those.
Type 2 Bikini style under the bump.

My aunt works for the company so I got to road test a lot of their products Grin

I'm 38 weeks at the minute and can't get comfy but it seems such a waste of money buying new knickers at this stage!

My ordinary ones were under the bump but started cutting into my bladder a couple of weeks ago Grin

Bought some giant maxi pants they were great for a week but now every time I bend down they roll down under the bump and feel like they're cutting me in half Angry

Thanks will try the granny knickers, normal ones just cut in under my bump and belly. All I wanted was a nice set of bra and pants. I'm only halfway through my second pregnancy and can't find anything comfy. I'll be going commando at this rate!
