...to just let my 2 year old hibernate?

DD just turned 2, her sister had dropped her nap back a lot at this stage, but this one will sleep and sleep and sleep.

She goes down between 11 and half past, and it's not 14:30 and she's still asleep. I am tempted to just wake her before we go for the school pickup but I also feel guilty about letting her sleep so long.

When she's awake she is an absolute dynamo so I just assume she needs her kip, but it's not interfering with her at bedtime at all so I just think "what's the harm".

But I also think "am I just enjoying this peace and quiet too much?"

Eldest is just 4 and still naps 2 hours a day. 2 year old does 2 also but would easily do 3 if he got the chance

Unless you are sedating her Grin then I'd say go with it if she's not wakeful at bedtime, her body knows what it needs

Let her sleep, if it is not interfering with nighttime, why worry. My DD still had an hour nap some days until the age of 3.5. These where on busy days, with pre school and childminders.

Make the most of it. Our year-old sleeps for about 9 hours a night and an hour during the day.

Thanks, I will stop telling myself she's wasting her life sleeping in bed - I can tell her that when she's a teenager.
