to think this is false advertising?

ok not the most serious of issues but interested in others opinions to see if iabu. I bought a tablet online dont know if im allowed to name the company but never mind (from very) its the galaxy tab 3 which says it comes with free samsung fold over case. Tablet arrived no case, emailed very who said the advert states its for 'limited time only' so no case. Which is true but if you read the product page BUT it doesnt say subject to availability or anything and leads you to believe if you order now you get it, its actually still being advertised now, explained this to very and was basically told tough luck and to make a formal complaint if i feel the need, very tempted but i use them alot so before i do

AIBU or are they?

YANBU, nothing about that says or implies the the 'limited period' is over. I would complain.

The website says "Samsung are including a free 16GB memory card which will come in the box, plus for a limited time only you will receive a FREE Samsung foldover case."

If I bought one right now I'd expect the free case.

glad im not alone here, the free case was actually one of the reasons i ordered from them and not amazon (who were £10 cheaper) i dont see how they can still advertise it as included if its not

well i followed the link they gave me for online complaint and got a 2 line email back saying again, it was a limited time offer and im not getting it. Even though it STILL says its free on their website.

Anyone have any idea where i should go from here, im really annoyed about it.

Trading standards, it is clearly misleading.
Take screenshots of the page as it is currently in case they take it down subsequently.

You are right, they are in the wrong. It would put me off ordering from them. Hope you get it sorted.

You're right, but good luck complaining.

I had a vaguely similar problem with the same company, ordered a pair of shoes and they sent a different pair. I queried it, asking if the picture was wrong online, or the order number on the box. They didnt know and had no way to find out, apart from for me to order the same item again and see what came. So I did, and complained that the picture still didnt match what I received again , and they basically said "well return it and you don't have to pay for it". Very helpful.

You do know that Very charge interest of 37% or something and insist on you opening a credit account rather than simply buying stuff outright?

So I second the advice to send it back and buy elsewhere.

That's not true financeprincess , I have brought several items from very and although full retail price I've never opened an account just clicked the pay by debit card option.

In answer to the op I'd expect a case if i ordered now. They should remove the wording. Have you time to send back get refund and order from amazon. I would put of principle.

Free case and card should come with, that's how it is advertised. Send it back and get it from somewhere else, Very have gone very downhill the last year or so I've found.

I had problems with Very until I tweeted them then they couldn't fix my problem fast enough so I'd definitely recommend that route as they don't like the complaint being out there for all to see.

River Island on the other hand...don't get me started on how shit their customer service is. I do not recommend anyone buys online from them!!!
