The stuff he makes is absolute rubbish. I was a child when I used to watch Art Attack though, so it's entirely possible that I have my rose tinted glasses on regarding that.

I had this very conversation with my sister recently. Not only that, but Buchanan had the best mullet on kids' telly during his tenure at Number 73.

In the Japanese version of Art Attack they show the segments with Neil making pictures outdoors out of various stuff in it.

I've never seen the British version. I must be too old.

No Gaz Top always reminded me of the
lead singer or King,same style hair.[And i use that word style very loosely]
I loved Tony Hart and Morph and Neil but i do agree Mr Makerisnt in the same league at all.He always reminds me of Will Young for some reason.

I have an irrational hate for Mr Maker anyway. Not as much as Justin Fletcher though.

I loved Art Attack. Mr Maker is too manic and makes stuff with weird items you'd never have in the house. Plus his stuff never looks as good as the art attack stuff. I also think it's too ambitious for the age group it's aimed at so the results when you actually try it with your child are even shitter.

I find the manic "Yay, let's be a children's programme! Children love WACKY and CRAZY and jumping about all over the place!"

I also hate the 'make it in a minute 'shit. All that effort preparing stuff and it doesn't even keep them occupied long enough to have a cup of tea.

Thank you mumsnet I was watching swashbuclers kids programme and it reminded me of one programme I used to watch but it was really bugging me whalt it was called and now I know it was funhouse! Back on topic I liked tony hart and dare I say it RH. Don't remember neil b.

I'd forgotten about Gaz Top. He would have kicked the butts of Buchanan, Sharp and Limahl in the International King of the Mullets contest.

Actually, I saw Limahl a couple of years ago. He was buying a Dyson in John Lewis in the Trafford Centre. His hair isn't what it was, I'm afraid.

The new art attack bloke is just TERRIBLE.
There's something about the way he speaks - the intonation I think - which is just totally totally not right and makes my ears try and crawl off my head and my face actually look like this
He makes every single fuckingsentence sound like a really patronising question...
