Sorry that's just it. I used to work in recruitment consultancy and one of the things that I prided myself (and my organisation did too) was to ensure that candidates had a smooth and efficient selection process.

I went for an interview on Monday, not sure how it went - I feel I answered his questions well and had good rapport with the interviewer. HR said to me they would let me know the outcome within a few days, it's now Thursday and still nothing. I feel sorry for the apprentices if this is the experience they have. Not sure I'd accept now (sorry I have totally spat out the dummy!). There maybe other candidates I accept that but why say in a few days, why not say by Friday we'll be in touch?

I hate the waiting game Angry....AIBU?

Awful isnt it?
I suppose they dont know exactly when they will have finished deliberating?
I would like to think you would hear tomorrow, but obviously cant guarantee it.
I dont think you should spit out the dummy btw! If you have had an interview, they must have thought that you were worth time and money interviewing.

One question I always ask at an interview is "what are the next steps/what is the process from here?" to get an idea of when I can expect to hear the outcome.
I understand your frustration, though. However, do you know how many other candidates were being interviewed?
Fingers crossed that you get a positive response tomorrow.

I feel your pain. Had a similar situation, interviewed on Friday, was told no decision till Monday, had to wait ALL DAY Monday (which also happened to be a significant family special day), then didn't get it. I think it's poor practice, but I wouldn't let it stop me taking the job, unless you are confident there will be another option along soon. Good luck.

Thanks both, I asked what were the next steps and he said HR would be in touch in a few days, heard zilch which makes me think thanks but no thanks.

I'm resigned to that but annoyed at being left waiting. Thought you should get a response by now?

Thanks for helping me calm down though!
