To let dh bloody well choke next time?

Dh choked on his breakfast this morning, started coughing. I was in another room and asked, "Do you need water?" I filled a glass and took it to him.
He gave me the filthiest look and after he'd finished coughing said, "Of course I needed water, I couldn't speak!"
WIBU to let the miserable fucker choke next time? (I am smiling through gritted teeth being lighthearted)

did he think that you weren't going to bring the water unless he indicated that he needed it?

I've done the same as you. I didn't mean that he needed to nod or anything Grin I guess it's just really saying that you're getting them water.

Although I suppose just getting the water or saying "I'm bringing water" might be better Grin

Yeah, he was narky. But do you need water was a daft question under the circumstances. Grin (yes, I know it wasn't actually a question, see above)

Surely it was one of those questions that only expects one kind of answer and if there's no answer it's assumed you'd do something anyway - ie, he might have said "no, I'm fine" in which case you wouldn't have brought water or if he said nothing presumably you would. Like calling to a child "are you ok?" - you don't expect them to say "no" if they're in dire trouble, you'd obviously go and check on them if they didn't say "yes".

He's misunderstood why you were asking and he's being an arse about it.

He's not being that much of an arse is he? Choking always makes me feel quite cross, as well as sneezing. Blooming sneezing.

The perfect response - "I think what you meant to say was 'Thank you for the water'.... You're welcome". Said with a big sarky smile.

Or maybe I'm just a cranky old bag.
