(Backstory - DH and I both play guitar)

DF (making conversation)- "Are you going to teach your DC to play guitar when they are older?"

Me - "Yes, probably, if they show an interest"

DM - "Why haven't you taught them yet? Is it because you can't be bothered?"

Me - "Argh! No, funnily enough, it might be more to do with the fact that we both work full time, don't own a half size guitar suitable for teaching a child, oh and the eldest one is SIX years old and the youngest is (farrrking) TWO."

DM (hurt expression) -"no need to be like that, I was just wondering..."

AIBU to be frustrated? I don't think I am!

No I don't think you are either. No point in starting stuff until the kids show an interest

'Me' - "Well next time don't be so rude when you're 'just wondering' and I won't 'be like that'. 'Can't be bothered......."

I can beat that. When pregnant with dd1:
MIL (on the phone to Dh) says "What are you going to do about music lessons?"
Dh: Confused
MIL: "Well if dc wants music lessons, what are you going to do?"
Dh: ConfusedConfused "Err...pay for lessons." HmmConfused
MIL: "Oh, they have things like that up north then?"

I'd like to point out at this moment that we live in Leeds, not the middle of nowhere.

craftyandclothy you mean you are not strapping an iPod to your bump with Bach and the like blaring through for at least four hours a day?
