Its a very good thing that this is to be rolled out nationally. And is only right that future partners of violent abusers can make an application for disclosure so that the person can make their own informed choices.
However what about ex partners that have contact with their children?
I have recently found out that my ex whom I have a dc with has been sentenced for domestic violence against his ex and not for the first time.
Had I not of seen his ex by chance, I would of been none the wiser about what had gone on.
He was never going to tell me what had gone on and how he had been arrested, charged and bailed awaiting court. In the meanwhile we were going back and forth to court with cafcass involved and I really don't know how they did not pick up on this. Shouldn't they all be in conjunction with each other?
Surely somehow in the system his name should of been flagged up as he has previous domestic violence when we were together and had our child.
He has been put onto a domestic violence register, but as mother to his dc I would never of known.

The courts seem to make a disinct difference between domestic violence and being able to be a good father

Do your children have regular contact with him?
