Childminder sick ...found out at 9am. I am at work, 20-50 mins away from school, employed and expected to be on duty until 5pm

He is self employed , 10 mins away, and has his mum near who can have them

I have said I can do pick up tomorrow as not on duty...

First he yelled at me because he is fucking busy and why is the fucking cm ill?

Then I forgot they have clubs on Monday and don't finish until 4:15 so I got yelled at because he stood outside school like a twat and no one told him, AND he has to go back and get them and he is fucking busy

It's all my fault Hmm

Remind him they are his children too!

gordyslovesheep · 25/11/2013 15:59

Exactly!

That's an insult to tits I'd say. He's a cock cheese.

PeterParkerSays · 25/11/2013 16:01

Missing the point slightly, but why did the CM notify you of her illness so late?

EldritchCleavage · 25/11/2013 16:03

He really should not talk to you like that. Ever. OK to be annoyed at your mistake, but the blaming and swearing is not on.

SeaSickSal · 25/11/2013 16:22

Was his mother available? Why do you think your job is more important than his?

Your mistake probably lost him money and pissed of his clients because he walked out not once but twice.

Do you do this every time there is a problem? Just expect him to walk out of his job when you refuse to do the same.

YABU. I don't think it's him who needs reminding they are his children too, it's you. I think anybody self employed would be pissed off at the assumption that they can just walk out any time they fancy, his customers would be no more impressed than your employers.

Erm no sea sick 99% of the time I take flex, toil, leave to cover sickness and also take them to all their Camhs apts :)

He has missed supervising his staff completing a job for half an hour and lost no money

My job is equally important I didn't imply otherwise but he can grab them and go to his mums, I would need to arrange full cover of my job for five hours and take half a days leave or without pay :)

Childminder only knew she was ill when she threw up at 8:45

YANBU expecting him/or his mum to help you out in an emergency.

YABU by not letting him know about the after school club, albeit not on purpose.

gordyslovesheep · 25/11/2013 17:47

I agree - but I would argue why would I know about after school club more than him - neither of us collect the kids on a Monday - arguably we both should have remembered

I did feel bad about it mind - but so did he since he apologised when i came home

gordyslovesheep · 25/11/2013 17:49

also not sure how the father of my children having them when they need collecting/are sick/off school is helping ME out anymore than my doing it is helping him

it's being a parent - we are both parents

Well said Gordy. Glad he apologised.
