To just invite a bunch of random MNers to my wedding to boost up numbers?

I'm only half joking :o
DP and I are (hopefully) getting married next autumn, and we'd love (me especially, DP isn't as bothered as me) a big wedding with loads of friends and family. But neither of us have many friends, probably about 10 between us! It probably sounds daft but I want to be surrounded by loads of family and friends and have a big party in the evening. But we just don't have the friends!

Okay I'm not really expecting a bunch of MNers to rock up for a wedding party, I was just having a bit of a self-pitying grumble.

I know getting married isn't just an excuse for a party but I want a big party with loads of people :(

AIBU?

Yanbu, I had over 300 people at mine. We went all out for the day and up until now we still get people telling us things we hadn't noticed, it's wonderful! So many people shared our day and looking back wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

FetchezLaVache · 23/11/2013 23:38

If you're in North Yorkshire, I'll come! :)

littleblackno · 23/11/2013 23:38

I've never been a guest at a wedding in my life - I'd love to come!

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 23/11/2013 23:41

Where to I would come, not been to a wedding for 6 years now.

magimedi · 23/11/2013 23:42

RollerCola · 23/11/2013 23:43

I think you should definitely do it! It would be the mn meet up to rival all meet ups! Please can I come?!Grin I'll be really well-behaved. (probably..)

DavidHarewoodsFloozy · 23/11/2013 23:45

I love a good wedding! Where, when?

AgadorSpartacus · 23/11/2013 23:45

Magi, identifiable only by outlandishly jaunty hats.Grin

Heathcliff27 · 23/11/2013 23:48

I'm in. Do you have a wedding list?? Grin

Areyoumymummysnet · 23/11/2013 23:48

I also have a hat. Its a red wooly one but I can add fascinator type shite to it. I also can get embarrassingly shit faced so you can send videos of me falling over to you've been framed to recoup money for the bar. Wine Wine Wine

iklFaceOfBooe · 23/11/2013 23:49

When & where? I'd be up for North West MN Nuptial shenanigans.

TeamSouthfields · 23/11/2013 23:52

I'll come.

ThenSheSaid · 23/11/2013 23:53

I have just checked my diary and I am free that day Grin

I dont drink and I promise I won't wear a fascinater.

magimedi · 23/11/2013 23:53

My hat is the hat to beat all hats - bought (in the sales, £130 reduced to £ 23)) for DS's wedding - because I was always asking him when I'd have to buy a hat, it became the family shorthand for a wedding.

My hat would LOVE another outing. I could even add some bunting to it, if you wanted!!

ShylaMcCall · 23/11/2013 23:53

Would you like a wedding Thriller dance? I am sure it could be arranged.

AnneEyhtMeyerInSilver · 23/11/2013 23:53

I'd definitely come. I think I would enjoy it more than the wedding of someone I know as there would be no judgement on the relationship!

Wishfulmakeupping · 23/11/2013 23:53

Let us know where it will be

HarpyFishwifeTwat · 23/11/2013 23:55

Can I be a bridesmaid? I'm 37 and have never been a bridesmaid.

FunnyRunner · 23/11/2013 23:56

Weile how have you managed that?! :o

I'm in Zombie. I hate weddings but I like a good hooley. Just don't ask me to sport some scrunched up bit of tulle with a feather stuck in the middle.

DejaVuAllOverAgain · 23/11/2013 23:56

I'll come Grin
