To just invite a bunch of random MNers to my wedding to boost up numbers?

I'm only half joking :o
DP and I are (hopefully) getting married next autumn, and we'd love (me especially, DP isn't as bothered as me) a big wedding with loads of friends and family. But neither of us have many friends, probably about 10 between us! It probably sounds daft but I want to be surrounded by loads of family and friends and have a big party in the evening. But we just don't have the friends!

Okay I'm not really expecting a bunch of MNers to rock up for a wedding party, I was just having a bit of a self-pitying grumble.

I know getting married isn't just an excuse for a party but I want a big party with loads of people :(

I love a good wedding me

AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 23/11/2013 23:58

I'll come if you promise to send out a "give us cash or else" poem with the invitations.

stiffstink · 24/11/2013 00:06

If you're NW I'm up for it, it'll give me an excuse to shave my legs.

However, this does depend on whether my toddler is invited, after all, weddings are all about family (including families of internet people).

PS i will leave him at home, he bites.

EllaFitzgerald · 24/11/2013 00:07

Ooh, Shyla I'd be part of a Thriller dance! We could do it like a flashmob.

I'll come but I'll be wearing a wedding dress and I'll try to get in all the photos with the groom, same as the last three I went to.

HerrenaHarridan · 24/11/2013 00:17

This is a brilliant idea. If its within a half reasonable distance I will come.

Any excuse to get a pretty dress out Smile

Congratulations op

SupermansBigRedReindeerNose · 24/11/2013 00:20

I wanna come! I might try this for my own Grin

CheshireDing · 24/11/2013 01:19

Can I come ? I have not really drunk since 2010 due to pregnancies and feeding therefore once this one is out in the next couple of weeks I can get ready for an autumn wedding - and will be off my face on wine.
I will wear a fascinator

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/11/2013 01:24

I have several hats. Just saying.

HootShoot · 24/11/2013 01:24

I love weddings! I'm in the south east if you want to invite me. DH and I are always happy to get the dancing started Grin

HeeHiles · 24/11/2013 01:31

Can we do this properly please? OP must become BrideZilla and make loads of unnecessary requests in her invites which we must then be in up roar about for days then we all decide to ignore and go and have a party!

antimatter · 24/11/2013 01:36

I can come and dance with anyone who likes dancing (or by myself Smile) and will buy my own drinks as well!

Arcadian · 24/11/2013 01:42

I'd LOVE to come!

TidyDancer · 24/11/2013 06:51

I'll come. As some of you may know, my decorating skills are in high demand. I also have two occasionally cute children I could supply for photos.

17leftfeet · 24/11/2013 06:58

I'd come if it was in Yorkshire

I'm a single parent so opportunities for a good night out are few and far between

Bearandcub · 24/11/2013 06:59

Why I'd love to come, thank you for the invitation.

I can pretend to be your best friend from the circus when you walked the high wire... I'll even be the bearded lady, just for you.

On a serious note, it's next year. Start pm-Ing some of on here or other posters you like. Offer to meet up a couple of times and voila you have a friend!

People don't always have to be friends for life, just friends for that part of your life.

ChasedByBees · 24/11/2013 07:13

I'd come if it wasn't too far away! I wouldn't even mind being sent a gift list. Grin

Trapper · 24/11/2013 07:17

Will the buffet have cheese and pineapple on cocktail sticks? If so, count me in!

ThePearShapedToad · 24/11/2013 07:34

Ooooh I'd love to come to your wedding! I have a hat ^and^ a pashmina

Ready to go, no?

Birnamwood · 24/11/2013 08:05

I'll come. I love a good wedding :)

mrstigs · 24/11/2013 08:21

Oooh I've not had cheese and pineapple on sticks for AGES!! I feel the need for a retro buffet now. Smile

tumbletumble · 24/11/2013 08:24

I have an underused hat too!

Mellowandfruitful · 24/11/2013 08:27

I would like to come too! I love weddings and buffets, retro or otherwise. Happy to travel and will hat up!
