To just invite a bunch of random MNers to my wedding to boost up numbers?

I'm only half joking :o
DP and I are (hopefully) getting married next autumn, and we'd love (me especially, DP isn't as bothered as me) a big wedding with loads of friends and family. But neither of us have many friends, probably about 10 between us! It probably sounds daft but I want to be surrounded by loads of family and friends and have a big party in the evening. But we just don't have the friends!

Okay I'm not really expecting a bunch of MNers to rock up for a wedding party, I was just having a bit of a self-pitying grumble.

I know getting married isn't just an excuse for a party but I want a big party with loads of people :(

Do you want doves to release at your wedding ? i dont have any but i can trap a few wood pigeons and paint them with poster paint , it is non toxic and washable so i am sure they wont really be harmed ?

frumpet · 06/12/2013 11:37

or i could go the extra mile and colour them to match your flowers ?

WhenSantaGotStuckUpACunnyFunt · 06/12/2013 14:43

That's a bit OTT Frumpet but thanks for the thought :o

Do we all have to wear a certain colour to co-ordinate with your wedding colours?

cardamomginger · 06/12/2013 14:54

I'm in! Fellow Londoners - anyone want to share the driving, or are there enough of us to hire a coach?

soaccidentprone · 06/12/2013 16:13

Yes op, what's you colour scheme?

Do you need any help or suggestions for organising it?

WhenSantaGotStuckUpACunnyFunt · 06/12/2013 17:17

Anal colours according to my thread of yesterday Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin

If I'm honestly honest I have no frikking idea where to start with planning a wedding Xmas Blush

WhenSantaGotStuckUpACunnyFunt · 06/12/2013 17:19

I haven't decided on flowers yet, my friend suggested wheat and poppies.

Grennie · 06/12/2013 17:31

Not sure anal colours is the best colour scheme I have heard Grin

Grennie · 06/12/2013 17:32

I would actually ask a florist for guidance. You want flowers that will in season and at their best at that time of year.

MardyBra · 06/12/2013 17:38

Have only skimread the thread so this may have already been suggested.

But I wondered whether the OP was planning to get all her MN friends to save the date, and then not invite them but ask them to decorate the hall instead. That would make a good thread (or three) Wink

@MardyBra - so wishing there was a like button here.
@ Zombies - would love to come along, can be well behaved or outrageous depending on wine consumed & brides preference, have fascinators in several colours so sure I could tone in and also lots of wedding related stuff bought for my wedding in Dec 2012 which we were too drunk and forgot to bring out for our guests

WhenSantaGotStuckUpACunnyFunt · 06/12/2013 17:50

Damn MardyBra. You busted me Xmas Wink

soaccidentprone · 06/12/2013 18:34

Ooh - brown really suits me, it makes my hair look really shiny.

I even have some brown and gold flecked glasses, so I should be able to blend right in Grin

Grennie · 06/12/2013 19:15

Maybe you could have a zombie themed wedding? It would fit in with the red tones of Autumn and the photos would be amazing.

DejaVuAllOverAgain · 06/12/2013 20:22

I've decided to try all three of the wedding cake tiers, by the way.

Ooh, yes, this ^Grin

I don't have anything on on that date, I'm sure I could make it Wink
