To be shocked about the Wise Old Elf? *spoiler alert*

So in one of the new episodes of Ben and Holly it transpires that... The Wise Old Elf is a father!

His 3 (3!) sons are: Captain Squid, Red beard the Pirate, and Barnaby's Dad.

Anyone else in shock about this?

There was no mention of who the mother/s were...

I thought the Wise Old Elf and Nanny Plum were secretly in love. I really want them to get together. Doesn't Red Beard kiss and flirt with Nanny Plum in a couple of episodes?

Doesn't that make him a Grandfather? And one is on the wrong side of the law.

Oh I thought there was a love/hate relationship between nanny plum and wise old elf. I definitely remember red beard having a thing for nanny plum. I can see the attraction nanny plum is a fine women/fairy!

I think he was wild in his hayday - I want to know what happened with the monkey gibbons as that is the event that caused him to hate magic - king thistle's mum was involved too - he was pretty in to magic before that!

and I think the plum romantic link is Mr elf - and that (imo) is the reason that Mrs elf is on edge quite a bit

Nanny Plum and Wise Old Elf were at it like badgers, I reckon. She moved on, he hasn't, and he's still bitter.

I think Nanny Plum is the source of many an elf and fairy's secret longing. YY there is definitely tension between her and Mr Elf, and Mrs Elf IS always on edge. Plus King Thistle treats her like a second wifey and is a bit too reliant on her, and Queen Thistle can be quite rude to her.
