With the smoke alarm when he gets in,

Ring dj to say I am changing battery ok smoke alarm that is connected to the mains electric also,

to change I have to turn off mains fuse switch, climb ladder, disconnect mains power to alarm and then remove battery,
I told dh Jokingly to ring for ambulance if he doesnt hear from me in 5 mins,

Dh goes oh wait for me to do it I said no beeping almost constantly now feels like every minute, ill be fine,

To which he answered well do try and be careful, as I'm running late so wouldn't be able to pick ds up from creche at 6

so wibu to hit him over the head with the damn smoke alarm when he gets in?

Yes. I cannot follow your "issue".
Why did you phone him to say you were changing the battery? Hmm

YABU. Change the battery then revel in your independence.

No issue, rang dh joking about getting electrocuted as smoke alarm connected to mains supply,
He joked back about not electrocuting myself as if I did he would ring ambulance as requested, but not come home from work and would actually be late picking ds up at 6 this evening

Guess our sense of humour doesnt translate to mn too well

Don't worry Mmm I got it, it's the sort of thing that would be said in our house. I would pelt him with spent batteries when he comes in Grin
