items in party bags

to the lady who gave all the DC a foam sword as a party bag present (its two foot long) this is not a great idea when you have DT boys who now have another way of hurting each other

although the child friendly chop sticks were fantastic

Kind of thing I would give Grin

HettiePetal · 17/11/2013 10:29

Isn't the point of foam that they can't hurt anyone with it?

ICameOnTheJitney · 17/11/2013 10:30

Yes HOW do you hurt someone with foam?

superbagpuss · 17/11/2013 10:31

the cats don't seem convinced

also they are hitting each other and me , and I'm very grumpy

I only put sweets, crisps and cake in party bags now. Cheaper and safer.

hermioneweasley · 17/11/2013 10:32

At least since you have twins they are equally matched. Lots of families attneding will have homes with multiple kids but only one went and got a party bag. If it bothers you that much, take the swords away.

SueSueHeck · 17/11/2013 10:34

It sounds fab. Just the sort of thing I would do. It's foam, I doubt they can kill each other with it. Grin

HettiePetal · 17/11/2013 10:34

Well, yes - I think if I was being hit with a foam sword on a Sunday morning, I'd be a bit grumpy too.

WallyBantersJunkBox · 17/11/2013 10:39

Love the idea of the foam sword. It's the dust collecting Kinder type tiny plastic crap I can't stand. And those "look like a cheeseburger" sweets.

If a foam sword or Nerf bullet touches me it all goes on top of the fridge until apologies are made and calm ensues.

WallyBantersJunkBox · 17/11/2013 10:41

ilovepowerhoop - that's the kind of party bag I like!

DS forgets about it as soon as he gets it home and then I eat with a cup of tea at 8pm. Grin

ballstoit · 17/11/2013 10:41

Stop hitting me and each others dts or the swords will go in the bin.

Then follow through.

Much quicker and more effective than moaning about someone who presumably entertained said dts for a couple of hours for free.

SomethingOnce · 17/11/2013 10:47

Must've been a huge party bag to fit a sword in.

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 17/11/2013 10:50

You are the parent, if they are being violent with the swords rather than playing, take the swords off them and then do what you normally do for bad behaviour.

superbagpuss · 17/11/2013 10:52

I have taken them away, so much so I think they will live permanently in the kitchen

7am this morning they were loudly playing pirates

now we are quietly colouring in
