What a Wee McGregor is?

Anyone Northern that can shed any light on this?

I've googled but alas, nothing comes up except some weird UrbanDictionary thing and everyone knows how UD isn't safe.

Wine or Brew with a slice of Cake or bouquet of Flowers for those who can enlighten me!

The wee mcgregors are naughty Scottish radishes... Or are supposed to be.

A clan of cheeky radishes. Working as a team, the Wee MacGregors are often behind mischief caused in the Nursery.

GimmeDaBoobehz · 16/11/2013 19:52

Oh OK.

I knew it must've meant something similar but was more on line of cheeky little buggers or something like that.

I have waaaay too much time on my hands to wonder about things like this. :)

I thought they were named after gardeners. We have tom and barbara (from the good life) and the wee macgregors were named after mr macgregor from peter rabbit? Iu probably over think things too much.

Wee McGreegor is a book about a little Scottish kid, written more than 100 years ago. He is a bit naughty and likes tablet (as do I). He lives with his family in the Glasgow tenements. It's quite good.

I presume he was the inspiration for the naughty little turnips in Mr Bloom's nursery.

I can't see them as radishes, somehow. Neeps are more Caledonian!
