to stay at home tonight?

I've got a ticket for a party that really isn't MY thing. It's been arranged by a couple of mums from a group that I am heavily involved with and I felt obliged to attend in support. They seem to have done a good job shifting tickets so numbers aren't an issue (as far as I know anyway). However, yesterday I woke up with a "tickly" cough, by last night I had pains in my chest and a totally sticking cold. Didn't get up until lunch time, feel like death warmed up, and really don't want to go out in the cold. AIBU to stay at home in the warm and have an early night? If it was something that I really wanted to go to I wouldn't feel guilty about it, but I really do feel rough.

Sorry you are feeling poorly.
I would call one of your friends to let them know, then go to bed.
Hope you feel better soon.

Tee2072 · 16/11/2013 16:50

Why would you be unreasonable to not go if you're ill?

People are strange.

Go back to bed.

Amy106 · 16/11/2013 16:55

You are not reasonable. You are sick. Make one quick phone call to say you won't be going and then off to bed for the day. I hope you are feeling better soon. Thanks

Thank you all, so on a slightly different note, AIBU to expect DH to feed the kids tonight? He's watching rugby - and has been since 2pm! Angry

Don't be daft! Stay in. Phone and explain why then don't give it another thought. After you have done that, show your Dh where the kitchen is!

thebody · 16/11/2013 17:14

keep your cold to yourself and rest.

tell your dh to cope, he will.

sleep, medicate and hope you are better soon.

Amy106 · 16/11/2013 19:01

Tell dh that he is in charge of dinner (if he hasn't figure that out yet) and something for you too (toast, tea, soup?) if you are well enough for that. Get well soon. Thanks

Well, am staying home but haven't made it to bed yet - stuck on mumsnet! DH fed 12 yo, I fed the others and still haven't eaten anything myself. [tummy rumbling emoticon]
