I really want to rip off a bears head.

Not going to light up but I really could murder one.

Remind me now why it's a good idea.

You'll have loads of money.
You won't smell.
Your skin and hair will thank you!

Would thoroughly recommend a vape. I downgraded the nicotine content over a year and managed to quit entirely.

CocacolaMum · 15/11/2013 22:43

I have a better chance of seeing your children as adults and meeting grandchildren n that?

You wont have a mouth like a cats bumhole when you are old

Clobbered · 15/11/2013 22:43

Totally normal reaction!

Saving yourself loads of health aggro later on.

Vikki88 · 15/11/2013 22:44

I truly wish I had your willpower. Stay strong, you can do it!

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 15/11/2013 22:44

When George Clooney comes and to your place and says, "Forty run away with me to Bora Bora " you first thought won't be, "where are my fags and lighter". That got me through some cravings. George still hasn't arrived.

It's been 10 years, George, hurry up.

MrsTerryPratchett · 15/11/2013 22:45

Fuck me, MrsTP proof read!

CocacolaMum · 15/11/2013 22:46

I am 8yrs smoke free and I have to be honest, I can still be at a shop counter tempted to buy a packet of fags (til I see the price...)

NoComet · 15/11/2013 22:51

DDad spent today having an injection into his eye ball.

Why does he have leaking blood vessels in his eye, because of the drugs that stop him dying of heart failure.

Chain smoking is not good for you, he gave up too late not to suffer for his addiction, but he has lived to see his GD into their teens and hopefully beyond.

Our maths mistress died of lung cancer before she could retire Sad

TamzinGrey · 15/11/2013 22:57

OK. It's going to be hard. Just accept that you're going to feel like shit for about three whole months.

When you get to month four you're going to feel bloody brilliant. And richer. And healthier. And justifiably smug.

You can do it.

notundermyfoof · 15/11/2013 23:00

Stick with your vape, it will take the edge off the cravings. How long have you been off the fags? I'm on day 19 and really not missing them at all tbh thanks to the marvellous ladies on the e cig thread and my lovely new vapouriser Smile

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 15/11/2013 23:13

I am sticking to my vape drinking but could murder one

Buy the Paul McKenna download, after years of this horror of stopping and hating it, craving a fag, overeating etc etc

With this I quit within 4 days, no nicotine replacement, been almost 2 years now, was a piece of piss

Nicola19 · 15/11/2013 23:33

Thanks tamzin, that thought helps me

WestieMamma · 15/11/2013 23:53

The withdrawal symptoms get worse and worse for 3 days and then drop off very quickly. You just have survive 3 days. I cried myself to sleep on night 2/3.

squoosh · 15/11/2013 23:58

It really, truly doesn't have to be painful and it definitely doesn't need to feel like shit for three months. I'm always banging on about it but I read Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking and gave up without so much as a backward glance. I felt excited on my first non smoking day and haven't been mildly tempted since, even after a few drinks.

As long as you're still missing fags they are still controlling you.

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 16/11/2013 00:05

Craving has past , god this is hard

FortyDoorsToNowhere Firstly, well done you! Secondly, can I ask if you've started eating more/gained weight as a result of giving up? I know a lot of people seem to say that it's unavoidable.

I ask as a smoker who is tentatively considering giving them up as a New Years resolution.

squoosh · 16/11/2013 00:17

I've lost weight since giving up the fags!

Vikki88 · 16/11/2013 00:28

I've never heard anybody say that before?! How did you do that? I'm gonna so use you as my inspiration! Grin

FortyDoorsToNowhere · 16/11/2013 01:24

They cross trainer is in full force.

Every time I feel the urge I have took my craving out on that.
