Was I wrong to leave work at 2.30pm today?

At work I have been told by my Boss that I can leave at 2.30pm as long as I have finished what i am doing. (I work in a School Kitchen). My Boss is away until January so the Assistant Manager is in charge.

For the past 2 weeks I have been leaving at 2.30pm. Sometimes the Assistant Manager has told me I can leave other times I have just signed out to leave but she didn't say anything when I did.

Today the Area Manager was in and as I signed out to leave at 2.30pm (I did what I had to do) I signed out to leave. Next thing I know the Assistant Manager comes up to me when i was already dressed saying to me that I have to ask her next time. I did say that I leave at 2.30pm as she/the Boss tell me to but she told me that I still had to ask.

Now was I wrong to leave at 2.30pm or not?

How many hours do you get paid for and actually work?

CoffeeTea103 · 15/11/2013 19:16

I think even though you are able to leave earlier you should check with your manager each time if you should leave.

I think you seem to have so many blinking problems with this job and the bosses is it really worth the stress though actually think YOU are the stress

Didn't we have this issue a while back with you needing to pick up a child by a certain time?

ilovesooty · 15/11/2013 19:41

Just ask her every time in future if it makes you feel better. You can hardly do anything about a decision you took today.

Haven't you done anything about getting these work problems sorted out?
