Just had an "early night" with dp and we're getting down to the business under the duvet when suddenly this foul stench engulfs me and I realise he's let one go. I instantly said I need some air and moved our of and away from the clinch we were in. Immediately switched the light off and said goodnight at which point he apologised profusely, said it just slipped out and that he didn't know it was coming etc etc. is now snoring next to me.
Aibu to be pissed off about this or should I be trying to see the funny side? Have a just has a sense of humour failure?

Funny! Yes it's gross and kils the mood but not something worth getting upset about!

Jaynebxl · 15/11/2013 07:11

Hmm I thought it was pretty normal! Blush

Elfhame · 15/11/2013 07:38

At least you were not going down on him!

SmiteYouWithThunderbolts · 15/11/2013 07:40

Your poor DP! YABU, it's just a fart!

Mckayz · 15/11/2013 07:41

You really need to lighten up. It was a fart FFS. Everyone has to pass wind sometimes.

MildDrPepperAddiction · 15/11/2013 07:46

I think you overreacted. How would you feel if it were you and he rejected you that way?

redshifter · 15/11/2013 07:51

YABVVVU.

Lighten up.

I would feel very upset if rejected because of a fart.

Quite nasty really.

TheWazzock · 15/11/2013 07:54

Tbh we'd have laughed like drains while he tried to apologise. Then we'd have carried on shagging! Grin

Dawndonnaagain · 15/11/2013 09:00

Oh dear, do lighten up a little. We too, would have laughed and continued. It's a normal, natural function of the human body.

fluffyraggies · 15/11/2013 09:10

If he did it on purpose with your head trapped under the covers that's a different kettle of fish!

I admit to the occasional fart when we are at it - what can you do? DH has occasionally does too. If it's near the start of proceedings we'll laugh - if it's in the middle of a red hot shagging session then neither of us bothers to acknowledge it or appologise. Who cares? Confused

(when you've been very ill/given birth in front of someone, somehow a fart is utterly nothing. and that's the way it should be IMO)

LimitedEditionLady · 15/11/2013 09:12

Id find it funny if we were just going to sleep but itd really kill the mood for me if we were "busy".Stench aint sexy.

RevelsRoulette · 15/11/2013 09:17

Well, I don't think it's funny. Mainly cos I'm not a small child and it's been 30 years since I last sniggered at bottom burps Grin

But I don't think it's disgusting either.

It's just one of those things. Sometimes gas escapes. His mind was probably elsewhere.

It would kill the mood though. Pretty hard to feel sexy when there's a guff you have to use a knife to slice through in order to escape in search of oxygen.

LimitedEditionLady · 15/11/2013 09:43

The worrying bit is i dont think any of us are small children......Grin

YouTheCat · 15/11/2013 09:47

If I know I'm onto an 'early night' we have a good old fart off before we even get to bed. Minimises the chances of being engulfed in stink at a crucial moment.

I am incredibly immature. Grin

ImaginativeNewName · 15/11/2013 09:49

It would put me off too tbh. I hate it when DH farts in front of me. He knows this but still does it.

TiggyD · 15/11/2013 09:51

Fungusting.

WallaceWindsock · 15/11/2013 09:53

Oh ffs! Poor bloke couldn't help it! It's perfectly normal, would be a non event in this house, we would laugh and carry on. He's probably feeling mortified by your reaction now, all because a perfectly normal bodily function occurred. And let's be honest, if you needed to fart and were engaged in energetic activity of any kind you'd find it really hard to hold it in. Just imagine trying to hold it in and carry on thrusting away, and orgasming without letting it out! That's near impossible I would have thought. Better to let it go early on than try and hold it and then punctuate climax with trumpet sound effects and foul smell!!

Dobbiesmum · 15/11/2013 09:56

Fungusting Grin Grin my new favourite word!
That happens a lot here, the only reason it kills the mood is because we just start laughing too much to carry on!

YouTheCat · 15/11/2013 09:58

We usually cuddle up afterwards and let a few go then, whilst giggling childishly.

Sex always begins and ends with a damn good laugh. Grin

StagnantRabbit · 15/11/2013 10:47

This may be TMI but probably what I should have said last night is that we were actually in the good old 69 position when it happened which made it feel a bit more direct and unavoidable!! Some of these replies are hilarious, this is why I enjoy mumsnet for a dam good chuckle. Fungusting. I think tonite we'll try and get them all out before bed!
