ELO are in the CiN concert now and I think it's a perfect track. It's got everything.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I love it Grin

Was that the original singer though?

Me and DH couldn't make up our minds?

EthethethethChrisWaddle · 14/11/2013 22:00

I love ELO. So YANBU.

RinkyDinkyDoo · 14/11/2013 22:01

Yep, was rocking with it just then. Love the fact they showed all the similar aged audience members to. Me, older buggers, they were rocking.

MrsBazinga · 14/11/2013 22:01

It's the family favourite in house (and car) :)

MavisGrind · 14/11/2013 22:02

Absolutely my favourite song ever. Will be played at me funeral. [jolly]

OooWhatToDo · 14/11/2013 22:02

I love ELO. Such a brilliant band, and Mr blue sky is one of their best songs so yanbu from me.

AugustaProdworthy · 14/11/2013 22:02

Yes, from 1978! Was definitely Jeff Lynn/e
We played it at my Dad's funeral and it was perfect. And it's on Shaun of the Dead. (Love that )

It's an amazing song. YANBU OP

OooWhatToDo · 14/11/2013 22:03

It's a weird one but I think the diary of horris wimp is my favourite of theirs, so good to sing along to.

WorraLiberty · 14/11/2013 22:05

Ahh thanks

Believe it or not I don't think I'd ever actually seen him before and obviously his voice sounds different because he's getting older.

It was fantastic though and I can't stop humming the tune now Grin

WorraLiberty · 14/11/2013 22:06

I used to like Hold on tight to your dreams as well.

AugustaProdworthy · 14/11/2013 22:06

He was on The One Show a while back explaining how he wrote the song.

YANBU

Every compilation tape/CD I've ever made for the car has this song on it somewhere :)

pointyfangs · 14/11/2013 22:20

It is fabulous. When it came out, I was in primary school in the UK (probably Yr5 in modern currency) and our teacher had us do interpretive dance to it. I have never forgotten it. I have indoctrinated let my DDs listen to it and they now love it. DH does too. It's one of the most feel good tracks ever.

Casualty · 14/11/2013 22:34

I honesty think it is actually impossible for anyone to listen to Mr Blue Sky and not dance/tap feet or hands.

Really great to run to too.

Shallishanti · 14/11/2013 22:37

YABU
toes not tapping here
however, chacun a son (bad)gout

kiwimumof2boys · 14/11/2013 23:02

Oh I love 70's ELO. Mr Blue Sky, Overture 10372, Livin' thing are Fantastic.
Its just a shame that people I know think of ELO as 'Rock n Roll is king' which is one of, in my opinion, one of their weakest songs.
Incidently I remember having nightmares about Jeff Lyne when I was a kid as I thought he was a werewolf !

BlingBang · 14/11/2013 23:05

It's simply amazing!

RussTDaviesBear · 14/11/2013 23:13

I used to love it, but it's one of the songs in the Young Voices concert this year, every class at school is practising it and it's beginning to get just a little tedious...
