I wouldn't spend it on a pink stone that looks like something in my 6 year old niece's dressing up jewellery box.

There are a lot of ood things being bought for huge sums at the moment. Andy Warhol's lots of little photos of a car smashed into a tree anyone?

Is it just me that now has the Pink Panther tune stuck in my head?

Well, its not as if that money could be used for something useful...like helping those in dire need of it in the Philippines for example.

I just think it's outrageous that anyone has that much money 'to spare' to spend on something so trivial as a piece of jewellery.

I had the same feeling about the Elizabeth Taylor jewellery sale in 2011, which was reported around the same time as articles on child poverty, fuel poverty and coalition cuts. Depressing.

It's their money, they can spend it on whatever they like.
