in being obsessed with MN

I only joined MN a few weeks ago. I am quite opinionated as some of you would have seen. And I think in some posts have probably not come across too well although I do consider myself a decent person. But I have become so obsessed with all the various threads and chit chat that I am spending at least five or more hours a night on here and going to bed really late. Hence struggling at work the next day through tiredness. I am a single mum. My ds 13 goes to his dads twice a week. When I am chit chatting on here my son is either watching tv, reading, doing homework etc. We do communicate all night between me typing away.........is this normal or am I a saddo? Hmm Were any of you like this at first and then the novelty wears off......have to go to bed now so will check any answers tomorrow.

I'm quite new and I like it too. I get a bit bored at home with all the day to day stuff and like all the mad situations and things that go on in peoples lives. And being allowed to give your opinion/advice which is not always welcome IRL. Maybe have got a bit carried away with it like you op but it is fun.

What is wrong with you people?

It is 6.30 a.m. And I haven't got out of bed yet.;)

Addicted too!! Smile

There are worse things to be addicted to OP Grin

I MN during the day a bit (more since preggers and sitting down allot), but i get on with life when duty calls and once the lap top is off it often stays off for till the evening.

i MN next to DH while he's on his PS3 for a couple of hours most evenings. But the nice thing is we are both available to stop and chat all the time. He asks about what's on MN, and sometimes i watch him play. If i shut the lap top at 9ish he'll stick the telly on.

It's all about balance.

If it's affecting your day re: tiredness, give yourself a set time to be off MN and do something else to wind down for bed time.

It is a phase, you will moderate eventually. I've been here for 8 years and go on and off it. Months can pass without looking but lately I've been quite addicted again Grin!

Apparently the noise of my elbow moving across the arm of the sofa while typing on MN is annoying!

I have been threatened with eviction to the playroom for disturbing DH.

Pah

(By the way, mumsnetting when I would normally be getting the kids up but DD1 is unwell and letting DS have a few extra minutes today)
