To not want birthday present from DH

I know I am probably being unreasonable, but we can't afford it.

My birthday is a few days before Christmas and I would prefer spending the little spare money on the DC for Christmas.

Not at all. Have you talked to him about it?

Mim78 · 13/11/2013 22:25

Not unreasonable at all. But he could just buy you a small thoughtful present - or give you the gift of lie-ins on a Saturday/Sunday for, say, a month. That would suit me!

I have, but he says that I never get birthday present off him due to the same reason.

I am an adult and I know it is down to money. Where as the DC don't.

Could you get DH and the DCs to make/do something for your present - maybe breakfast in bed, or being really quiet so you can have a lie in, or DH taking DCs to the park for an hour while you have a nap bath - something that won't cost money, but will be lovely, and the DCs can feel they gave you something too - everyone happy Grin

Love that idea.

I will say get me a nice bottle of bubble bath, some cheap candles and grab one of my books for a long candle lit bubble bath.
