To want a holiday on my own?

I am desperate for a break from the drudgery of life and for 7.5 years I've devoted my life to bringing up the DC. So AIBU to want a few days away from everyone to think about who I am, to sleep and unwind?

Not remotely unreasonable, I just did it and it was wonderful.

Technically I wasn't alone, I stayed with a friend but there was no husband, no children (or mine at least) and no work. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

What do you fancy doing?

Yanbu sometimes you just need that time for yourself.

YANBU. I've done this a couple of times. Just a few days away in a spa hotel - me, nice food, a certain amount of wine and a LOT of books.

And it helps concentrate the family's minds a little sometimes, on just how much you do for them when you are there Smile

I want to go to London for a few days, catch up woth a few old friends, shop and have a few relaxing treats that I'd otherwise never probably do with the DC/DH.

Go for it - we all need a break sometimes.

Earlier on this year, DS stayed with his Dad for 5 days while I went off to San Marino, Rimini and Montenegro to watch England play. Had a great time - lots of nice meals, plenty to drink and a bit of clubbing.

Lucyccfc that sounds wonderful! Much nicer than I've planned.

I'm going to broach this with DH and hope he can see why I would like to do it and we can organise something when he's off.

My first AIBU and I am so far NBU. Excellent!
