actually I liked it but agree the ageing is bad.

can't beat the hare and bear though.

comemulledwinewithmoi · 12/11/2013 23:51

Hare and bear lovley.

comemulledwinewithmoi · 12/11/2013 23:52

I loved last years John Lewis, can't beat that.

Love the Tesco Ad.

Hate the wimpy JL shite.

FutTheShuckUp · 12/11/2013 23:54

It made me cry. The horror of Rod Stewart straining his voice I think

usualsuspect · 12/11/2013 23:56

I'd rather listen to Rod Stewart than Mockney Lily Allen.

Ziggyzoom · 12/11/2013 23:57

The music is good, but the blatantly 'borrowed' concept and the talc-in-hair special effects are naff!

deepfriedsage · 12/11/2013 23:57

I like that you go forward in time every ten years, I forgot about curtain hair on the lads they showed for 93.

usualsuspect · 12/11/2013 23:59

I loved the curtains on the teenage lad.Grin

comemulledwinewithmoi · 13/11/2013 00:04

Rod Stewart kills it. Love old Lil

I felt nothing for the JL advert (heart of stone)

I like the tesco advert, it did make me go ...."awww"

monicalewinski · 13/11/2013 01:21

I love it because it's my lifespan. My first love (in 1990) had magnificent hair curtains, and the shit jumpers and décor of the 70s/80s part of the ad made me all warm and nostalgic!

sparklysilversequins · 13/11/2013 01:42

I liked it, made me tear up.

HoratiaDrelincourt · 13/11/2013 04:03

I agree: it's shit and the effects are rubbish.

The M&S one is more fun. The Morrison's one (Ant & Dec and a singing gingerbreadman) actually makes me want to buy their Christmas things.

I haven't seen the JL one yet.

deepfriedsage · 13/11/2013 07:43

After all the hype the jl add was naff. I like the M&s add.

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 13/11/2013 07:54

It's awful. Much preferred the ones they had last year. Short and snappy.

Hate the white badger stripes they use to age mum too.

NutcrackerFairy · 13/11/2013 08:19

Really liked the hair styles and décor of the 70s/80s start of the ad.
This was the Christmas of my childhood and made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

But agreed, those badger stripes on older Mum are shocking!

Otherwise quite liked the overall naffness of it, including RS's singing.

Just says Christmas to me!

hyenafunk · 13/11/2013 09:24

Grin at talc in hair. I quite enjoyed the Tesco one, I think overall it's one of the best but then I really don't like the JL one this year so it doesn't have much competition. Morrisons one is shite. M&S is about the best.

fluffyraggies · 13/11/2013 09:31

Hmm ... shed a tear at JLs one. (hormonal)

Tesco one ... meh, the grotty aging ruined it. It didn't speak to me - i'm too old to identify with the kids, and too young to identify with the parents.

lovelychops · 13/11/2013 09:31

Thought the hair and make up effects were crap, like an a level drama production.

I too felt nothing at the JL one.

nonmifairidere · 13/11/2013 10:08

They are advertisements. Their sole purpose is to separate you from your money. If that's what warms your heart at Christmas tide the ad agencies have earned their keep.

Nicola10 · 13/11/2013 10:21

The asda ad is awful imo - must have cost all of 20p to make Grin Grin

Bluebell99 · 13/11/2013 10:27

The tesco ad reminded me of the John Lewis ad "more than a woman" where you watch the woman ageing from a baby to an elderly woman. That was really well done and makes me cry. The tesco ad seems like a poor imitation.

moominleigh94 · 13/11/2013 10:29

I cried at the John Lewis one, but only because I'm intensely hormonal and cry at cheese just lately.

I actually really liked the Tescos one, naff ageing and all Grin
