Every week I cook a sunday roast. I'm not even that bothered about having a roast but dh likes it so I do it. Today dh is doing it (for the first time this year I might add) and every time he comes in the living room he has to tell me how he's progressing. Apparently he's going to put the yorkshires in the oven in ten minutes (I made the batter btw). I don't care! I just want to know when it is ready and then go and eat it the same as he does every other week. Is that too much to ask?

What does he want? A medal? Grin Please don't tell me he thinks he's cooking the meal for you? Grin

I'm afraid I'd be a grumpy sod and just ask him why he was giving me a blow by blow account and does this mean he'd actually like one from me of every single meal I cook. Grin

Either that or be a real cow and go totally OTT on the fake praise.

OMG that's amazing!
In ten minutes? Fabulous, darling
You are such a genius in the kitchen my love.
WOW, that's just, like, ever so wonderful of you.

I am in a really really foul mood right now which may be affecting the quality of my posts Grin

How tiresome.

My dh is cooking dinner and appearing occasionally only to charge my glass.

fannyfireworks · 10/11/2013 18:26

Ignore ignore ignore.

headlesslambrini · 10/11/2013 18:27

I like Revels idea but you will have to go really OTT, do lots of hand gesturing as well.

Pixel · 10/11/2013 18:34

Ooh the yorkshires are starting to rise apparently. My excitement knows no bounds!

Sorry I can't be arsed to do fake enthusiasm so I am going with the 'ignore' approach.
Oh dear, this could be the only sunday roast I get cooked for me in a long time Grin.

The tops are brown! set off some fireworks to celebrate!

I don't even have any wine Sad.

I'd go out and buy some! You get to ignore the cooking and get wine - win win!

Pixel · 10/11/2013 18:49

Good idea, why didn't I think of that earlier?
