Far too many flaming Christmas adverts and I've just seen the first decorated house around the corner from me.

And it's only the 8th November!

Humbug Grin

YANBU.

I saw Ant n Dec's Morrison's christmas ad earlier and inwardly groaned.

The day the shops start playing Slade's "It's Christmaaaaaaaas" is the day I go into hibernation.

mrsjay · 08/11/2013 21:33

YANBU but i tend to ignore it all till early december I just tut and move on I will not be hyped up in november i refuse

wamabama · 08/11/2013 21:36

Yanbu and I absolutely love Christmas but when it all starts in November I think it takes part of the thrill away from December because you're already sick of seeing it all Sad. I don't mind it towards the tail end of November but not so early like now.

Barmix · 08/11/2013 21:37

me too, mrsjay. it's utter madness.

My dad (who is a grumpy old goat and probably has never christmas shopped in his life) loves to head to Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow on Christmas Eve - he gets his coffee and cake in john lewis and sits watches all the frantic last minute shoppers carrying their own bodyweight in bagsGrin

mrsjay · 08/11/2013 21:44

Grin barmix your dad does well to just watch all the loons shoppers ,

I agree november is way to early it just drags and becomes a bind if you get into it all, It doesnt help that argos had a bonkers sale the other day and folk were killing each other to get into the shops for toys,

LimitedEditionLady · 09/11/2013 17:38

I hate how shops sell gift wrap and decorations in like...august!

ErrorError · 09/11/2013 17:42

YANBU. It's my birthday first. Every year for as long as I can remember, I've spent most of my birthday money on Christmas presents for other people. I would also really hate to work in a supermarket/chain store at this time of year, cheesy xmas songs on a loop would drive me to homicide!

Sparklingbrook · 09/11/2013 17:45

My Mum has rung to say I need to get my Uncle's gift ready as they are seeing him on Tuesday and won't see him again til after Christmas.
I had to go and buy cards and wrapping paper. Sad

aldiconvert · 09/11/2013 17:57

Local Chinese restaurant has Christmas tree up and it is 8 th nov ! Makes me want to boycott ! I am planning my Xmas but hate the commercial side until advent ...

josephinebruce · 09/11/2013 19:47

YANBU. It's NOVEMBER FFS!!! 1st December is plenty early enough (still far too early for me - but I'm a grinch).

bigbluebus · 09/11/2013 19:57

YANBU. It all starts too early. I refuse to 'do' Christmas until I have 'done' the 7 birthdays I have to buy for in November - the last one being on 26th.
What really cheeses me off, is when I am trying to do the normal food shopping, and I am surrounded by Mulled Wine, Pannetone, Christmas cake, freezers full of Turkeys/3 bird roast etc. I just want to buy ordinary everyday food for the next few weeks to feed my family and then in December I can think about stocking up on all the treats that I will consume over the actual Christmas festivities.

ForeverFrozen · 09/11/2013 20:19

I'm not totally fed up with Christmas yet, I'm sure I will be soon.

It is crazy how soon things come into the shops, I was looking at the Easter 2014 display in a shop today...

specialsubject · 09/11/2013 20:23

me too. Spent a lot of time in NZ, it's great there because Xmas doesn't start until early December.

hate the 3 months of sparkly crap we get here. Have to buy food but apart from that, will be avoiding shops as much as possible until January.
